Huh, I remember it being very clearly stated that she was disqualified because she leaked her win before the finale, breaking her contract.

I agree completely, I'm honestly so amazed by how much real singing she did, totally addressing all the crap from her VMA performance... yes it isn't as strong, but I think that's why she seemed a tiny bit stiffer, she was actually singing, and it was grrreat.
