The auto market isn’t about what you need, but what you want.

Have you considered having less grass? What do you do with all that lawn? What might you do with all those newfound hours of freedom if you got rid of it? (I’m not being a dick, I’m sincerely interested.)
I never thought too much of Jimmy Buffett’s music. Weak post-James Taylor lite rock AM jams that leaned heavily on pseudo-Carribean tropes. I am impressed (and often shocked) that he was able to blow this up into a massive lifestyle brand for aging boomers that made him a massive fortune. His Parrotheads were…
By discontinuing the Base trim, the cheapest Bronco is now $12K more expensive than it was when I bought mine last year.
Or how dare a person outside the car not follow the very basic instructions instilled upon us since we first learned how to walk on our own; ‘Look both ways before you cross the street’, ‘ensure the driver sees you and is stopping before crossing’. A very simple solution is to just put a stop signs at all unprotected…
This is a cool story, bro and not in an ironic way.
Somewhere in the multiverse is an Earth where Reubens got the spot on SNL and is revered in the same breaths as Aykroyd, Hartman, Radner, Carvey, and Murphy, while Gilbert Gottfried became America’s sweetheart as a squinting, screaming Pee-Wee Herman.

He was my first comedy icon and shaped my sense of humor. My best Christmas ever was in 1989 when I was 3 years old and received a talking Pee wee doll, a talking Chairry, and that yellow and red Fisher Price toddler sized car. I placed Pee wee in the front seat and zoomed around the house with him. Best Christmas…
Man, it’s been a bad week for 80s-early 90s icons whose careers were derailed by questionable scandals. I will say Pee Wee’s Playhouse is one of those bits of culture that manages to be influential yet timelessly unique. Seriously, there was never anything quite like that show, before or since. RIP.
Pee-wee’s Big Adventure is a gem. A true classic, and one of the zaniest film experiences I’ve ever had. Going to rewatch in his honor. What a loss!
Our family just got HBO when his special first aired. I fell in love within the first 5 minutes. His sensibility immediately struck home with me. His Saturday morning show started when I went into art school. My art school besties “found” each other through Pee Wee quotes. I’ll also add that despite how surreal his…
We were so spoiled to have Pee-Wee’s Playhouse as kids.
I’m saddened but glad he was able to have some agency over how he dealt with cancer, which given his experience with the media was entirely understandable.
Gutted. Truly a comedic genius. Just rewatched Big Adventure last week for the 100th time and it really is a meta, absurdist masterpiece that makes me giggle and laugh out loud throughout. I’ll say it: Tim Burtons best movie too. Saw him on Broadway and it was so well done. Rest in peace king.
The word of the day is, "SHIT!"
Oh, yeah, I just blame Google for starting this shit, and since they’re the de facto gateway to the internet, everyone else has to kowtow to them, and play their game.
it wouldn't be the AV Club if we didn't bitch about the AV Club. it's a time-honored tradition.
Remember when the A.V. Club used to do deep dives into like the 2000's Midwest punk scene and there’d be like 500 comments?
