I had friends from the north east post memes about Portland’s inability to deal with snow. I chuckled, since they’re my friends, but then I remembered I live in Arizona, and if snow fell here, we’d think it was the apocalypse.

Hell, we did pretty much that when it “snowed” in February about 4-5 years back.

This was a great way to end the year. I’m pretty happy with this story.

This is probably one of the most entitled things one could imagine in this situation, but is anyone else excited that we get Russians back as our antagonists in our narratives again? Outside of Nazis (who we also get as villains again, though less intimidating this time around), these guys make the best enemies.

Oh you’d be surprised. My mother has gotten away with store bought masa before. If you can make the filling good enough, no one, not even the judgiest of judgey nanas will dislike it.

Admittedly, the level of culture change necessary probably isn’t worth it, but I think it’s far from dumb. You basically don’t want it out of habit and fear of change despite the article outlining why it’s just as safe.

With the topsy turvy year I’ve had, I barely came out ahead. But the ideas are there, and my girlfriend is on board to do these better next year and hold each other responsible.

What would it take for the USA to adjust its laws to accommodate non-refrigerated eggs?

I live in southern Arizona, so I can get some really good, locally made hot sauces. I use those for a variety of things. But Cholula is my go to if I don’t have those on hand. I think it goes great on everything.
