Every single change in autos, whether for safety or new tech, gets passed on to the buyer. Air bags? Price goes up. Fuel injection? Price goes up. Now, change engine? You think they’re just going to eat that? You don’t just take all existing engines, and up the compression.

Look... the automakers... remember that, the AUTOMAKERS want this. Have you ever seen any single thing they’ve added the past, oh say, decade or so that LOWERED the price of a vehicle? I’ll bet you don’t just push a button and change every engine’s compression. Those tooling and building costs are going to be pushed

What 10 cents? 93 is way more than that here.

This. If 93 or 95 octane is more expensive now, there is no way the oil companies are going to let it be cheaper. We’ll here a lot of mumbo jumbo about additives, and it won’t be what 87 is now at all.

And way more expensive engines/cars. You want a standard? Fine. Make 89 the standard. Let us common peasants afford it.

I used to teach land navigation, and always drive with a compass in my car.

MY GOSH!!! It’s a Wife thing, apparently...

Where in the United States of by-God America can you have directions that DON’T say; “Just past the McDonalds”?

I was looking for the second Beetle. Maybe hiding behind the Porsche?

Yes, I know. But NAFTA is just the local version of all the other stuff.

So everybody is on board with buying anything from the place... whatever place... that makes it cheapest, right? A few million jobs disappear to China, Viet Nam, and other commie countries whose policies we claim to deplore, and a handful of CEOs and execs make millions, but hey, you got that car for $600 less, so

“Trump’s team had been reportedly pitching a plan that would require certain parts to be made by workers who earn certain wages, which is interesting though I’m not sure how it’d be put into practice.”

The original top pics have matching wheels.

I liked it. I fully expected to like it. Speed Racer was the first serial-style anime I ever saw as a kid. It was right up there with Captain Scarlet.

The big thing for me is that it doesn’t LOOK like a spare parts kit. No gaps, or odd-shaped pieces ‘made to fit’. It looks like it could have been an exotic production.

They could find a market for that here easily. I’ve also read they’re fairly reliable. I’d take one, ‘cause it looks roomier for my shoulders than a Fit.

Why so happy? We can see both of her hands.

That seems weird. Nobody searched us going through Atlanta. I reckoned if you’re carrying a machinegun through, nobody was really going to care if your pocketknife was under 3 inches.

I miss flying in the Military. All we had to do was show that all rifle, pistol, and M60 chambers were empty. Nobody said boo about the knives.

We got the wrong item in an order. Faithfully called up Customer Service. It was an iPhone X case. They basically said it wasn’t worth sending back for restock, and sent us the correct item. Might have been sweet, but we’re a Samsung family.
