And you need to do your research on things that the dealer may or may not have to (or care to) tell you. My Wife had a friend in the Regional inside. She cross-referenced all the offers. My Wife wanted a Malibu (in 2004). She had in hand paperwork about a National rebate, a SouthEast region rebate, put it with the

I’ve only used a rental a few times for a week or so, and some things are just like my own car. When I’ve got a few minutes for lunch, I can jump in, hit that Burger Czar drive-thru, and get back quickly. The idea of a ride service for things like that seems dumb.

Do they run? Because, for some unholy reason, I like that little truck.

My Wife’s Buick has leather, and it’s not so bad.

I’m not sure I understand the reasoning. Surely those cows were turned into juicy steaks and hamburgers. They did not die simply to make car seats. Now if someone has a picture of 50 tons of rotting beef outside the Land Rover plant, please share it.

Fairly accurate. But I would mention that now that ceramics are really inexpensive, to put them on and forget about them for 6 years.

Not so bad... Look, for the past couple of decades, air travel has went from comfortable to almost impossible to breathe. So they put fewer people on a plane, reversing the horrible late trend. I get more leg room! Fewer people at the airport, so less waiting in security! When it gets to where a 747 can only carry

I’m all for these guys! The Chengs, that is. Here’s a bunch of people who like to lord it up over the common peasants. They think they are sooooooo smart. Yet not one single person ever questioned if taxes were paid on common private property. I’ll bet they have a Homeowner’s Association with a president that

Maybe a start. The first ones I saw, I just thought were Sportsters. A bit pricey at that.

I believe that Harley, for more long-term survival, needs to have more of a line of simple, smaller, lighter, and less expensive bikes.

I don’t get something. They’ve had a lot of money for a long time. And over years. I know it takes gobs of cash to make a car, but shouldn’t they have something besides a handful of (probably) hand assembled models by now?

Reverse: Anybody who would pick that over the DB4 is a fool, and need therapy.

That’s another ‘money’ thing. What’s been done in the fuel cell World is small batches in hideously expensive facilities. To go mainstream, the plants would be bigger than refineries for a fraction of the output. That’s a field waiting for another breakthrough, which is the ability to make huge amounts cheaply

I’m not sure part of that is true. We really don’t have any choice right now. When’s the last time you saw an American made TV, huh? Game console? Laptop? Even IBM sold out. It’s not that I WANT Chinese, it’s just I have no options. And when’s the last American smartphone you saw?

My GOD, that’s gorgeous!!!

No, because my Wife looked at them, sat in them, and tested them. If the darn things sound and feel like they’re going to fall apart on a test drive, how well will they hold up after 5 years?

Sometimes your needs do change, but you’re right. Some people just get a new car the month theirs is paid off. Me, now, for the first time, have been enjoying 3 years with no payments because; a) my car still runs fine, and b) I actually like it, so I’m just not that interested in anything else at the moment.

The nice thing about looking around Carmax is they list pretty much the final price. You can calculate away and have the basic math down even before you talk to anyone. Nicest car buying deal I ever had, since I had a lot of info up front.

And it has to be a manual!

United or not, if I had to go to California tomorrow with my dog I would drive. These stories are cropping up more and more lately. Luggage is one thing with hectic schedules and loading times, but luggage doesn’t die. Animals should be treated better on flights.
