Fair idea, but I use the NitIze S-Biner. Shaped like an ‘S’, with 2 retaining clips. It makes far more sense than a hook for securing things.

I’m pretty sure they just mean making them. I know several people with older, totally unsafe cars. And I would like a few of them myself.

I don’t think it’s as much “Snatching victory from defeat” here as much as “Snatching not-total-defeat from defeat” It’s a loss, and a bad one. Not a victory, just saving something from total annihilation. This won’t be a happy ending by any means.

You are right! He is wrong! It is the HHR, not the Element, that is God’s perfect vehicle.

The way they get around that is the wording. You can ‘win’ a color TV with the purchase of a new car. That’s how you get around any regulations. Also, ‘everybody wins’, so Lottery rules don’t apply.

I reckon the thing about NAFTA that upsets me is the unbalance. Companies didn’t move to China or Mexico out of the kindness of their hearts. Our trade deficit is horrible, and getting worse. We buy a million Hondas, and Japan buys a hundred Fords.

Well, I look like a bit-pushing Nerd, if that helps.

I was looking one day, and the salesman gave me the; “Think you’re man enough to handle this?” speech. I just looked at him, got my Wife, and left.

A good bone-us structure?

Great math skill there. I would like a Volt, but I would be running the motor quite a bit more than that example. My commute, depending on route, which changes occasionally, is 50 miles round trip. that’s pretty much the edge of a Volt on electric alone. Then, throw in a side trip about every day to get dog food,

Not really. I want a Bolt, I just can’t justify that price versus running expenses for gas and oil over 5 years.

Japan and Europe always get the fun stuff! We get bloated, over-marketed so-called ‘luxury’ vehicles.

That’s a good analysis, but I think people are not looking at the Bolt as an EV. People I know are comparing it to a Sonic more than they are a Tesla. People who want an EV may go for the Tesla simply because it is more car for the money, while people (like me) who just want a small dependable car balk at the price

The thing is, the basic perpetual motion machine HAS been invented. The problem is getting one to generate more power than needed to keep itself running. I think the best I’ve read about is one small LED. So powering a vehicle is a few hundred years away.

“Let’s not help the dog. Let’s just video it to get a lot of views. Screw the dog, let’s go.”

So this must be the new one, since I recall Jalopnik tearing the Crosstrek a new one last time you wrote about it.

Why are the oil companies worried? We’ll need that oil to power all the electric plants to charge all those electric cars. You think a microwave uses power? Try 50 electric cars in one neighborhood.

? The woman who wrote the vampire novels?

Maybe I’m just confused as to how someone who builds something can’t sell it. How on Earth did dealers get the power to say ‘no’?
