WAAAHHHH! Give Android some attention! WAAHHHHH!!!
WAAAHHHH! Give Android some attention! WAAHHHHH!!!
I feel exactly the same, right down to the Eartha Kitt comparison, which I have made every time I have talked about the show.
This is why I'm glad I have a Prius. Even if I were caught speeding, the cop wouldn't believe it.
Oh no! I already enabled it!
Hmmm.... Other than "dump as much money as you can into AAPL as you can between 1997 and 2007" I can't really think of anything. I came from a dirt-poor family, started living own my own at 17 with nothing but a blanket and a turntable to my name, and no post-highschool education. I've managed to build myself a decent…
I started Jailbreaking way in the early days, before there were any GUI options and it was all done in the command line and took half an hour. I was totally into it for a long time, but around iOS 5 or so, I just gave it up. To me, the phone's native features had grown to a point where Jailbreaking's downsides…
Well, this isn't really accurate. I just ordered the iPhone 6 on AT&T Next. The $750 cost is spread out over 20 payments, bringing a $37.45 increase to my monthly bill. But I can upgrade at 12 months, meaning that what I really pay for the phone is $449.40. Yes, that may seem to be a lot more than the $300 I would pay…
This is why I get new iPhones at launch and the new phone's first use is taking pictures of the old phone for Craigslist.
Yeah, I think they offered bumpers to combat the bad press, but they weren't necessary.
Nah, the other guy said the thing about Android being half-baked, I just replied to your reply to him. So I piled on you, I guess.
Not quite. My point is that the tech was fine. Both on the part of Google and the manufacturers. It was solid. But because of the limited applications, it wasn't as USEFUL as it could have been. ...Because they didn't think past how to implement it. That's why Apple on Tuesday announced partnerships with retail chains…
I wasn't implying untested hardware. I was making the point that they didn't do anything on their end to ensure that there would be enough places accepting NFC payments. Go back and read the whole thing, then debate me all you like. I'd just prefer that, if you're going to argue against my comments, it actually be…
Well, yeah... those were both products that were clearly labeled Beta on release, as you stated.
It could be a regional difference. Or it could be that I don't have any NFC stuff yet, so I don't notice them. Or maybe a mix.
For the partnerships, I find that getting businesses to adopt NFC payments in their stores is the most important kind of partnership to make this work, and that's what Apple has done, as well as partnering with Amex, Visa and MasterCard (with Discover now jumping on). Businesses were very slow in adopting the tech and…
Here's what you're missing about this: Android manufacturers will throw whatever tech they can into a phone just to be the first to have it, whether it's useful or not, whether it's even functional or not. Like auto-scrolling by eye-tracking that one of the Galaxy phones had. I tried to use that on several occasions…
My cat KNOWS she's not supposed to be on the counters. If I walk into the kitchen and she's on the counter, she jumps down immediately. But I still can't keep her off there when I'm not in the damn room.
I picked up 3 Safe Deposit boxes for $10 at my local architectural salvage store, and I made them into drawers in a workbench that I built. They pull out and a lid lifts up to get to what's inside. They don't have to be removed, because the lid stops short enough to allow it to stay in its slot while open.
This should totally be under workshop.lifehacker.com!
She couldn't carry her own fucking wine?
