I don't know how good an indicator this chart really is. It's not rating availability, only average. So, I live in Florida. It's yellow on the chart, showing somewhere around 9.5Mbps. Florida is full of Old people. The ones who have internet are probably getting the 6Mbps base-level from Comcast/TW/Whoever with their

I would LOVE to see a Featured Workshop feature, similar to the mainstream LifeHacker's Featured Workspace.

No MKV support is a non-starter. That's like an app that will stream downloading music but doesn't support mp3.

The main benefit of XBMC over Plex is that it doesn't require a server software to run. You just point the app to where on your network your media resides and it scans it all in.

NOTE: If you have a Fusion Drive and a Bootcamp partition, you will not be able to create an additional partition. If you want a Yosemite partition, you'll have to wipe out your Bootcamp partition.

Okay, I am someone who is constantly on his phone, all day long. I am just as addicted to my phone as everyone else. But when I'm eating out at a restaurant, that thing stays in my pocket, on silent, and is ignored if it buzzes with a call or notification.

These are just GoBots dressed as Transformers.

I have iOS 8 installed on my iPad Air and my iPhone 5S and, while its a little buggy, overall it's perfectly usable. The biggest issue I have is when I try to see my Kinja notifications, it gets stuck in an infinite redirect loop. Haven't found any non-working apps thus far.

So, for some reason, I don't share the love affair with Lego that the rest of the Internet has. This idea, however, I am totally in love with.

There's an ever more accurate one on eBay for $50. (Full disclosure: I made it)

For about a year and a half, I used an Ikea dresser as an entertainment center, with all my components hidden in two drawers. I had a 7.1 A/V Receiver, Cable Modem, Router, Ethernet Hub, and IR Blaster in one drawer and an 8TB NAS and BluRay Player in another. A lot of heat was generated and I had NO FANS. And I

Lovely. I'm a huge fan of hidden tech. My workspace hides as much as possible, but not as completely as this. And the built-in fans are a brilliant touch!

On Safari in OS X, all the bookmarks in the bookmarks bar correspond to a CMD+# combo. So, if I want to go to Lifehacker on my Mac, I just hit CMD+5, for example. (Don't be offended, work stuff takes up the first 4 spots!)

My local Total Wine sells them for $5 a pop. Whatever they have in stock, regardless of size. With lids or without. I imagine most Total Wine stores have a similar policy. If you don't have a Total Wine near you, I would just ask at whatever local places you have that sell wine. Some may even give them away. In my

I still can't figure out if I should be offended by this comment :-)

For those who are curious about the random stuff around and on the desk:

Well, it's pretty new... it's like a week old. Thus far, no repairs needed. The only issue is that I misjudged the size of my printer, so where it sits, it just barely blocks the sliding door under it from being able to slide up, so I have to move it any time I want in that crate. So I just keep stuff I don't have to

It's very solid. Everything is screwed together, so it's one unit. I would probably have to be careful moving it into a new space, but it's very sturdy when set up. The only weak point is that I wouldn't want to stand on the desktop, as parts of it can crush in, due to it being a hollow door. An easy fix would have

Thanks for featuring my workspace! Honestly, as soon as we looked at the apartment, there was no question that this would have to be where the workspace went. It is so serene and relaxing.
The wine crates (which I bought empty, by the way) had been serving as a makeshift alcove shelving solution in my old place, and
