No, if Apple did this, it would be stupid. If ANYONE did this, it would be stupid. I think what I'm saying is: this is stupid.

Can we just talk for a second about the banning of tablets from these public schools? Phones, iPods... Sure. But a good tablet can be an indispensable tool to a student, if the school is amenable to it. I'm currently taking a shit-ton of college courses and my iPad with the Kno app (and a few other key ones) have made…
Every year an article like this comes out and every year it's just as much fucking bullshit. These are the most pointless articles ever. "Your iPhone isn't $200, it really costs like a billion dollars because you have to pay for service!"
I'll add to the friendliness by totally agreeing on Flyover. It's a feature to show off to your friends. Which I don't do, because I wouldn't have an answer if someone said "Cool! When do usually use that?"
Not only would I absolutely ride in a self-driving car, I'd ride in the back seat.
I disagree that fewer models equals boring, but I see where you're coming from on most of your points, whether or not I agree.
If you think that a 330 ppi screen on a 3.5" device isn't innovation, then you're out of your mind. A bigger screen isn't innovation, one with 4x the pixels of the previous model? Yeah, there's a lot more innovation in that than in soldering in an NFC chip.
First with accelerometer. First with gyroscope. First with magnetometer. First with ultra-high density display. First (only?) with the capability for hardware accessories that can have built-in apps fully leverage the capabilities of the OS... That's just off the top of my head.
Go ahead and go through the comment threads of the 15+ articles that have been posted about the Maps. See how many actual iOS users bitch about the maps, vs. how many say that they've never had a problem with them.
Seriously, Apple has not innovated anything in the iPhone since 2007?
Dude, look at you; all talking about raw specs as if they matter.
I love the maps. I've been using it for months with no issues at all. Flyover is a useless, flashy feature, so who cares if it makes the world look like a melty, horror landscape? You're not going to be using that thing anyway.
Translating...
If you don't live in a metropolis like New York, Apple's maps is a big step up from the iOS implementation of Google Maps. Period.

Man, I love Steve, but you're way off-base here. First, Steve was directly in charge through a number of buggy, failed products; DotMac and MobileMe are a couple that spring readily to mind. There was also an iMovie update that was so reviled the next update went back to the previous UI.
It's no different than shooting The Pelican Brief or Jurassic Park. It's all just fiction.
I have to go with Haredevil Hare as it was just Chuck Jones' 100th birthday the other day!
Overall the 3D was decent (it was shot 3D, not converted), but there's a log of shining and gleaming right in your focal points (eg: Dredd's helmet) and those things always end up looking really jarring in 3D. Wouldn't say to avoid the 3D, but I think you'd still really appreciate it in 2D.
