If you adjust the $9/hour wage I got from Pizza Hut as a teenager in the mid 90s for inflation it comes out to $15.10/hour now. He’s not overpaid at all, his union has just done a better job of fighting wage stagnation than most.
When I was a new driver I’d use the handbrake to assist me. After almost 30 years of driving a manual I just put the car in gear and drive. Only ever roll back an inch or two. I do still do the handbrake thing if the hill is REALLY steep and someone behind me is crazy close to me (which happens a lot with the…
My car has hill hold and a manual emergency brake. One doesn’t preclude the other.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought that...
I’m in the same boat. My mortgage (taxes, insurance, etc included) for a 3 bedroom house is less than I’d be paying just to rent most one bedroom apartments in my area. When I bought the house it was even more lopsided. I saved almost 1,000/month buying my house over renting that first year. The rental market in the…
In/out of your car varies by installation. Some want you to get out of your car, some realize that’s not exactly safe and tell you to stay in your seat.
No, actually. The flag code states that you stand at attention with your hand over your heart.
Not exactly. During the anthem you stand at attention with your hand over your heart. If you’re wearing a hat you remove it and hold it at your left shoulder with the hand over your heart.
I’m a software engineer and my customers always do that. Of course they also want us to bypass testing and integration and “just deploy it already”.
Garlic bread without cayenne is fine, but the whole time I’m eating it a small voice in my head keeps telling me how much better it would be with some cayenne...
Yes, it would be the Secret Service that would be showing up, not the NSA.
I’m not sure I need a genetic test to tell me that cilantro tastes like soap...
Air tight dog food bin for the bulk, a smaller air tight food container for what I’m using right now.
I guess you could buy a bread maker if the time/working space concern is a big deal. It’ll take a while to overcome the 40-100 bucks initial outlay for a bread maker and get home made bread back into the “cheaper” category, but it’s an option...
To be fair, I tried to buy a Focus RS but when I was looking you couldn’t get one without driving halfway across the country and paying $10k over msrp.
I would be a set it once and never touch it again guy, except every time I take my car in for service they jack it all up (apparently the person they have service my car is under five feet tall and has to move my seat all the way forward and recline the seat half way to the floor to swap out my summer/winter tires).
The drivers here in Maryland don’t need cell phones or booze to be terrible. I have a 12 mile commute each way and on an average day people try to merge into me around 4 times.
Weird...my old 2004 WRX averaged about 24 mpg commuting (mid 30s highway). My 2017 is even better...
I get ~25 mpg in my 2017 WRX (manual) in stop and go Maryland commuter traffic.
