Also consistent with current trends, the new 2.7-L is an under-square design with a 3.63-inch (92.25-mm) bore and a 4.01-inch (102-mm) stroke to facilitate compact, high-tumble combustion chambers. Side-mounted direct injectors deliver up to three injection events per combustion cycle and the 10:1 compression ratio

Doubling the federal gas tax would add 18.4 cents per gallon. The state taxes are a whole different ballgame, but I believe were talking about federal here. Just doubling the federal tax and tying it to inflation (which only makes sense) are long overdue, and isnt a bigger change than seasonal gas price changes.

This is basically how I feel/felt about my 2004 GTO. It has a physical throttle cable, t/c is turned fully off with a single button press, and it’s an honest V8 with rwd and a manual. It has some modern conviences added to the factory 6-disc radio including an aux in and an integrated aftermarket bluetooth setup. It

Yep, mine looks even worse from the one single time that I left it hanging after needing a jump start on a cold winter day.

I always liked the Quadrasteer Denali version.

I feel that the most important thing to say about the Blackwood, is this commercial for it:

He has five sons from his first marriage, though...

I always wished my Cobalt SS/SC was rwd.  It would have been everything I wanted (minus the lack of V8 noise but that supercharger was sweet), and I probably would have kept it instead of getting my GTO.  It weighed a good number, handled fantastic, and made the right power with just a couple modifications.  Plus,

I remember reading about people protesting Toyota at an auto show after GM had unveiled the hybrid Tahoe/Yukon. But after the dust settled, the general buying public didnt care to understand that taking on the low mpg vehicles made more sense, so they didnt buy them.

Exactly. Super conservative company paired with the wave of “ green” that their customers/general public keep dumping onto them just for having the most recognizable hybrid means they have no reason at all to want to change the status quo.

Managing turbo boost is a fun and engaging activity you can do while driving. Deep inside, everybody likes feeling turbos spool up.”

I bought (custom ordered) a new 2015 Colorado with a manual transmission. We’ll see how much of an effect that has on manuals continuing to be offered in the future. “I did my part.” Does that make it better? Yes.

So your argument is that the people who buy Camaros/Mustangs/Challengers are both:

It doesn’t play into the classic muscle car group either as it doesn’t have a classic style to appeal to that demographic the way Mustang and Challenger can.

He thinks the sheer volume of cars in the low-to-mid part of the sports car market means people are almost overwhelmed with options.

I think more people would be comfortable with an EV if it had an on-board range extender, whether its a gasoline powered engine or some other fuel.

I think 100 miles might be good for most people. You should see someone about your range anxiety!

I’m also a fan of the 3rd gen W30 MR2 Spyder. There aren’t many MR convertibles, much less affordable ones. And I’ve ridden on track in a 2ZZ/6 speed swapped one with a great driver... man, that was a great experience.

I generally agree with you, and I know I’m biased in preferring my Fiero. GM really did mess it up off the bat, with lots of bad management decisions and last minute direction changes (looking at you, Iron Duke).

Yes, and thank you.  I’ve had it for about 3 years now.
