That surprises me to hear. There are a few very large guys in my local club that drive their Fieros all over. And I’m talking 6'3"+ and 300lb+. It’s also possible to take the seat rails off, to lower then a little bit more if necessary.

Especially knowing how far along the development of the 1990 Fiero was! It would have really given the MR2 (and everyone else) something to think about.
It’s certainly not a fast car, but sometimes that torque is very helpful when you want to pull out of a corner without needing to downshift. I haven’t driven an MR2 yet, but it sounds like the SW20 2.2 is a similar powerband, just stretched over more rpm.
Thanks, I spent a good amount of time fussing over my limited choices to accomplish what I wanted from wheels. :)
And don’t star things, either.
I thought it was referred to as crab walking. Hmm.
Check out ateupwithmotor.com if you haven't. That's a fantastic place to waste more than a few hours, and with great detail.
I might be nit-picking, but I don’t think it’s “bored and stroked.” The 6.8L is a 416ci, which I’m pretty sure is the displacement you get from putting a 4.00" crankshaft in a (stock GM 6.2L) 4.065" bore block. It’s just stroked, as we all like to be.
I was wondering if it tried to signal a turn into the hay bale.
While the CTR and STI are maybe bigger names, what about the Golf R? It has more of the non-pretentious looks similar to the Kia, and can ride excellently with it’s adjustible DCC suspension, and has a much better interior than the Honda or Subaru. Those, as well as not performing as well on track, are comments the R…
Really!? Nice, that’s what I like to hear.
When is TaxTheRich going to get ahold of one? That would make me happy.
That bugged me, too.
I believe Subaru also gives you 6 “gears” when you’re using the paddles in normal mode, and 8 “gears” when you’re in sport.
Sorry, I can’t agree with your solution 100%. Based on the first paragraph, I should not be feeling like I’m missing the ability to do anything I used to do, now that I bought a hatchback (last month). I traded for it largely for a couple of the reasons that you listed, namely hauling more “people.” In this case, it’s…
Nooooooooo!
I remember when these were released, and I got a t-shirt for free at the auto show. I didn’t understand, at the time, why my dad didn’t think that the shirt wasn’t cool at all.
Hi
Purple is also my number one first choice, if we were to have the whole pallet here. Green is close behind, and I mean really close. I read a rumor that 2019MY may have the whole pallet available in the US, but I’m skeptical.
