Came here to post exactly this.

I’m with you actually, don’t get me wrong, I’m usually a “less is more” kinda guy but I think the super-aero cars were more in line with the ethos of “pinnacle of motorsport”.

Plenty of choice but my two favourites are Pikes Peak and World Time Attack cars... Mentalism at its best: Lovefab NSX from Pikes Peak

Things really were bloody weird back then....

I did always wonder what MCN’s reputation in the journalistic world was as here in the UK it does have a bit of an issue with some people calling it “More Crap (than) News”.

Still, if they are right this could be a bit of a winner in terms of top sportsbikes. Though I still desperately want a black and blue 954

Sounds like similar pondering I did whilst doing my motorsport engineering course (11 years ago, damnit).

Hmm, someone has already dragoned that, not sure I want some Jalop’s/Wert’s sloppy seconds...

I’m in love!

Every new car ever announced on here “totally looks like” every other car ever.... Annoys the crap out of me too.

Among the usual suspects:
That Range Rover looks like a Ford
That Jaguar looks like a Hyundai
That Bentley 4x4 looks like a Mazda CX5

Along the same lines as the OP question, Ford Fiesta (in the UK at least) has the 73bhp 1.5tdci (diesel) and the 212bhp ST (with Mountune kit). Just under 3 x the power in a B segment supermini that also happens to be the best selling car in the UK... Not bad Ford, not bad.

Also, you can prize my bike helmet from my cold dead hands dude, that thing is waaaay cleaner than some dodgy stinky loaner!

I always get peed off at kart tracks when going with my gearhead friends...

9000 Aero? Manual? Running? Less than 1k? Factory Recaros?

Who gives a flying Viggen about rust, it’s far lighter than carbon fibre anyway...

NP all the way to the end of the nearest runway.

Hats off to the guy for sticking with his favourite car, hoping to do the same with my “keeper” too (Please VW?)

To quote someone else:

Argh, 2 pictures of that godawful 488 doorhandle in the same day?
For god’s sake Jalopnik, can you not think of my poor retinas/sanity?

Yeah... I love these but we don’t get no Shelby Mustangs. I want a flat plane crank V8 for less than an M3 damnit!!

It has many other problems yes, glaring and obvious ones. But the contempt for design is pretty much epitomised by that doorhandle.
Like, with any other Italian (or for that matter any nationality) car company, doorhandle placement has been a thing of careful consideration and smart thinking for years. Subtle hidden C

Unrelated but kinda related, that 488 doorhandle in the top pic still annoys the crap out of me... It’s so badly placed... Goddamnit Ferrari sort your shit out!!

Absolutely and totally agree 100%. I’ve been thinking exactly this for years.
The 355 is achingly pretty and the 458 just works. Everything else has been a mess, a very capable and insanely detail oriented mess.
I’m not saying I wouldn’t have a 575M if I could, I just know that there are so many better looking
