In my time with AC franchise AC2 Trio (Brotherhood and Revelation) are good times. AC3 Was a bit bland because Main character didn't have much to present play it because I am interested in America civilwars settings. AC4 black flag was refreshing since it focus on naval combat.

Agreed with Luke. Get Black Flag first. It's my favorite AC game, it's cheaper on Steam (by a little), and if you like it then you'll likely enjoy Rogue.

IMO the other games fixed a lot of the originals shortcomings but totally made the series into an 'arcadey' game. The first one is the only one that did the assassination and their preparations in the best way and it truly felt like a simulation rather than an action game. Still like some of the others.
