In the US, 5.855-5.905 GHz is reserved for V2V communication. It just hasn’t been used yet. And cable companies want that spectrum. So it’s not that we have to set it aside, it’s that we need to hang on to it and not let the FCC sell it to the ISPs and Cable Companies.

I was just referring to the V2V communication platform itself. Perhaps a supplier would develop a solution that several automakers adopt. It’s not outside the realm of possibility for a company like Bosch.

I totally agree that V2V is basically a crutch for autonomous cars (in a perfect world), but it’s a crutch that could make the overall system way more efficient.

The power tests were always pretty good.

On the other hand for now self driving technology will need to adapt to the foibles of cars with no V2V setup, no matter who or what’s driving.

Neutral: I think most auto manufacturers can see beyond the end of their own nose. They know V2V will eventually be required. They’re still going to develop it. This shrug-off by the administration will just delay the inevitable by a few years.

Yeah, what that’s really saying is that once the two comparable cars are manufactured, the BEV has polluted more. For the Nissan Leaf-style cars, it takes 4,900 miles to catch back up. After that, the BEV surpasses the ICE in lifetime pollution.

Jesus. This again. Their number of 15% relies on an EV with a battery big enough for only an 84 mile range. The VAST majority of EVs sold last year, this year, and it’ll be even more next year with the bolt numbers rolling in are shipping with a battery capable of at least three times that range. 300% more. They need

If you’ve seen Moon, you’re a Sam Rockwell fan.

Electric car fanatics understand there are environmental impacts to manufacturing electric cars and the battery that powers them. The problem is the myth that the electric car doesn’t make up for this initial increased impact.

Sports cars are about feeling, visceral experience, and soul. Electric cars/hybrids have none of this, in my opinion.

If you’re going to hate on the name, at least spell it correctly.

...Mazda will add an EV and a mild hybrid vehicle.

You care way too much about what other people are wearing if you think ties without tie clips is a faux pas in an IT office setting.

NASCAR at COTA would basically be a drifting event. Can you imagine a stock car trying to put down power at the top of turn 1?

What if we just sold them all as certified pre-owned to begin with?

A way for rich people to give us the finger...and scamming tax credits from the government.

It’s going to be almost 5 years before anybody can put one of these in their driveway. A lot is going to change in that time. Batteries will be better. Charging will be faster. Charge points will be more common to find.

Oh yeah. I’m stoked about that move as well. Seeing the RT-24 be competitive would be amazing.
