All S550 have an LSD standard
He departed quickly. Who knows what the extent of the damage was.
Notoriously shitty? The current gen is quite nice.
I’m getting real tired of this shit.
If the board is you and Internet commenters lacking real experience then sure
Is it wrong, or just different?
I’d say it is an advancement as it allows car makers to provide sufficient sound deadening to minimize road noise while allowing for the engine note to still be heard in the car. That’s why BMW does it, and the S550 Mustang is by far the quietest and most ‘luxurious’ Mustang so far
So liking my car means I’m justifying it?
I don’t know about shaming, but an argument could be made that a decent power bump makes the Ecoboost the “better” car. It weighs less, has better balance, gets better gas mileage, and even with the cost of the Ford tune is a solid $5k cheaper spec for spec. It’s also possibly cheaper to insure, though I doubt it.
Only if we specify V6 1LE, and my point was then price becomes an issue. Is the V6 1LE worth nearly $40k? If all you care about is lap times, maybe, but a car that costs a few grand more damn well better be ‘superior’.
What? I’m referencing what is fastest at autocross because that is relevant to me (I autocross), because I have experience autocrossing, and because autocross is a good way to evaluate things like balance and suspension tuning.
Maybe a bit, but it depends on how you drive the car. I can’t imagine I’d actually see 18 combined since I don’t spend much time on the freeway.
Or maybe it’s the method of a sound engineer who thought “well, the bean counters won’t let us put a crazy exhaust on it so we’ll find a good balance”
No. You can pull the fuse on the audio system, but then you get nothing.
Yeah but the flat plane V8 costs twice as much as the turbo-4
Have you driven a car with the system? It’s fine. You honestly don’t notice it’s fake.
But do you really need peak power all the time? If you’re on a track/autocross course and pick the appropriate gear the ecoboost should hopefully be right around 3500-4000 RPM and realistically won’t take any longer to reach peak power or torque than an N/A engine.
I’ve driven both, and the Ecoboost certainly has better balance. On a road course the GT will win because of power, though a tuned Ecoboost could get closer. At autocross nationals the fastest Mustang was an Ecoboost.
Yeah but it drives the rear wheels unlike a tuned 8 year old Cobalt SS
