I disagree that it was driven from the broadcast end. I also think your confusing the digital switch for something else. If we are talking about TV that is broadcast over the air your right and wrong, if your talking about TV coming from cable companies then your just plain wrong. 1080 hit mainstream when Blu Rays

Never said it would be more powerful. Pushing 4k streaming requires no additional power, but does need better HDMI ports. I will admit I was wrong though, both consoles can currently push 4k as they both have HDMI 1.4 which i was unaware of.

You bet your ass it does. In fact did you know that almost all LCD/LED's blink very fast on things like clock's and light bulbs? Even having a frequency of 1Khz has a major effect on power consumption.

While that's true, the original 360 didn't even have an HDMI port when it came out. The next iteration of the two consoles will at least be able to push 4k, and we'll likely get those in 2ish years.

Okay, great. Plasma tvs don't scale linearly in terms of weight though, so a 55" would still be 50+ and here's an example of a 60" that is 71 lbs.

IDK if you missed the fact (that is pointed out in the article mind you) that OLED's don't have light bulbs, but that is not how this works. The actual materials they use to create the light breakdown over time. And your right the problem isn't just the blue, but its the biggest problem. If they could make it so the

Most people drive things like Cable, not things like netflix or HBO go. 4K content is already here, it's just a matter of it having a real breakout like blu ray did with the ps3. Also just because new tech is already out =/= that something a bit older is outdated.

I think it's going to be the same deal as with 1080, the consumers will pick up 4k before the broadcasters. Look at netflix, it's already had 4k for what, a year? TV providers will always lag what consumers want.

4K is pretty close to hitting main stream, OLED on the other hand.... who knows. If they can truly fix the issues with the blue pixels, then maybe soon. If not, it still won't make sense to buy one. A 1080p LED tv isn't a bad choice what so ever, but it's equivalent to buying a Ps3 or 360 last summer just before the

So the big things are A. Cost, B. Durability (I mean you can't even lay the thing flat), C. OLED looks better so why not put the R&D into it first, and D. Size. a 55" plasma still weighs upwards of 70 pounds, whereas a 55" OLED will weigh half that.

Noah Wyle may have aged a bit too much to do it again as a young Steve, but he's still the best fit for it in my opinion.

Um I think you mean 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2, and lightning returns. Square has done as much as it needs to in terms of leading female characters recently.

I understand that. But would the Ad rev from their traffic out weigh what they have to pay per click? I'm guessing it would be very close.

I don't disagree with that, but if Google couldn't be profitable doing it, who could be? You can't run a website with millions of hits a day, on hopes and dreams.

Supply/Demand only works where there's money to be made. How would the new media organizations make money?

Agreed on both parts. I've never bought a COD game, and have spent most of my online time in Killzone, and uncharted in the Coop/Objective based modes. I hate just running around killing other people it gets sooooooooo boring so quickly.

Agreed. The things to remember thought is that a rocky planet like earth would be very unlikely past the asteroid belt as elements that heavy wouldn't be in large enough quantities to form a planet the size of earth. As well as the fact that gas giants are so far out there as their elements are small enough to be

But you need to consider the size and resources of a Credit Union compared to a Bank. Let me put it to you this way, Bank of America has around 2.5 Trillion in assets. The largest Credit union in the entire Country has 55 Billion in assets. Now look at it this way, there are 4 (previously 5) banks in the country

I don't think your quite right in what you are saying. If you moved Jupiter into earths orbit and kept the same speed and everything nothing would change (other than a good amount of Jupiter's gasses flying away). They sun may wobble a bit more but nothing major would really happen.

I don't disagree just pointing out that all of this panic about it is quite unfounded.
