You’re not wrong, I couldn’t care less that my Tacoma’s bed is composite. I use my bed, but it’s likely to be filled with camping gear or bikes or skis, not gravel.

I don’t disagree that would be cool but there is only so much market for fast hatches. Almost everyone who would buy that is already going to buy a FoRS or a FiST so it doesn’t make sense to develop. I love a fast hatch and a FiST and a used RS were my 2nd and 3rd choices when I bought a car recently but a FiRS would

I recently bought a new Tacoma. In grey. I actually like the grey but I would’ve preferred blue or that cool sandy color. Unfortunately, they only stock manual Tacoma’s in silver, grey and white so I would’ve had to factory order one at full price rather than the discounted one on the lot. I like blue, but it’s not a

I’ve been loving it! My previous vehicle was a 1991 4Runner(as well as an BMW E36). The 4Runner was just too long in the tooth for the 80-mile/day round trip commute starting in a week. The job I’m starting also means I can afford a new vehicle(parents were willing to loan me the money so I don’t have to deal with

Tacoma TRD Off-Road(6 MT). Not really that normal, but it checks enough of my boxes that I’m completely satisfied with it as my only vehicle while being reliable and practical transportation both as a daily and for my many hobbies and interests. For the foreseeable future I only have the space and time for one

My 3rd-gen Tacoma really doesn’t drive that much worse than my dad’s previous-gen Acura MDX. To be fair, my previous vehicle was a 1991 4Runner so maybe it’s just much closer, but still. It really is much better than you’d expect.

Oh holy shit, I had 37 in my head. I still think that the 38,000 starting price for a base Rubicon Unlimited isn’t a bad price. Sure it’s expensive but I’ve priced out off-road builds and they add up fast. Considering how well Wranglers hold their value if you want a JK Wrangler with FR lockers you’ll be hard pressed

I’m assuming you mean the TRD Off-Road(TRD Pro is more like 40) but I have to agree that the Tacoma is a better value. Due to some recent changes in my life I both am making a boatload more money than ever before and will be turning way more highway miles than ever before so am considering my first new or newish

I get the four door. As the owner of a 2nd-gen 4Runner the JKU is what the 4Runner was. Decent capability in a compact and tough package that can still fit four(just) and camping or ski gear for a weekend. The current 4Runner has gotten massive.

Hate to say it but all that kit that comes with the Rubi is expensive. Run the numbers on adding what they put on it to a Sport and the Rubicon seems like a bargain. Locking diffs are a lot more expensive than a nice dashboard.

I disagree, mid-sized sedans have ballooned to the point of being excessive. I’m 6'2" and am just fine sitting behind regular size people in compact cars. Sure I could be more comfortable but I really can’t complain. The compacts of today are closer in size to the Camrys and Accords 90s kids like me grew up in than

I mean here’s the thing. IF I had to buy a normal, midsize sedan I’d probably want a Mazda6 with a stick. But I don’t have to buy a normal, midsize sedan. Even if I must have a new car with 5 seats and decent enough room for stuff at under 30 grand I could have a GTI, or one of the ST twins, or a WRX and if 5 seats

Hey wait I hadn’t thought of him, that would be hysterical! He’s a good enough driver and a great personality in front of the camera to pull something off

Oh, I thought it was the same. I’m not actually sure.

An improvement’s an improvement, I’m curious to see the real world difference. Keep in mind this is the exact same engine just with more gears to work with, there’s a turbo-four and a diesel on the way which should make a bigger difference.

Whatever I’m looking at that is awesome.

I never made it out to AOAA so I couldn’t tell you. I was only in the area for a few years while attending Lehigh University and only with my 4Runner for about a year(notice the Oregon plates)

That picture is from a green trail. I certainly could have chosen a better line but all the greens have spots that would be very difficult or impossible without at least low range and some amount of articulation.

Yessir!

And completely unintentional, I didn’t get my line exactly right and picked my rear up on a rock.
