One could argue that this is the essence of owning an "off-road" vehicle in the first place. How many people buy a Jeep because there's a mountain to climb and a creek to ford on the way to the office everyday?

I could see using something like this for parking, as well; not just parallel parking, either. Ever have to cut in real tight into a perpendicular space, only to find that you’re WAY too close on one side? Crab-walk that puppy in reverse, then pull forward when you’re centered.

That’s the difference between upper middle class and middle middle class.

If you want something like this, this one is the one you want. It doesn’t get much nicer than this, and if it does get nicer it’ll cost even more.

This is a piece of motoring history worth owning. $28,000 worth? I don’t know, but hard to fault the attention this car has gotten.

I’ve only tried Domino’s wings twice. The second time was because I forgot how bad they were the first time. They are (were?) unnervingly slimy. Like boiled in the sauce, with nary a crunch or any texture to be found.

plus a faint kick of something a lot milder than habanero.

We only get stupid things because we only buy stupid things.

It’s the gas price. Nobody wants to pay extra for gas-saving technologies when gas is $2.XX. They’d rather pay extra for a turbo Mazda3

Agreed, current generation Accord is straight up ugly. The previous gen Accord is much more attractive, but lacking the better engines.

The ‘standard’ transmission is no longer standard....

The whole schtick with manuals fails to recognize that times have changed. Manuals are on the way out and for good reason. I’ve owned numerous cars with manuals: I started with a 1930 Model A Ford and followed up with a Karmann-Ghia, a 280ZX, Corolla GTS Twin-Cam 16, Porsche Boxster, Porsche Cayman and numerous

I love that this exists

Thanks for the recaps. What a tremendous show.

1. the cylinder deactivation apparently doesn’t change the car’s MPG rating, so perhaps it’s just for NVH?

2. Every Infiniti starts with Q. They did sell a QX-30, which was based on the Mercedes GLA, but it’s dead now.

3. If you must buy a CUV buy a good one. If you can avoid buying a CUV, do so at all costs.

4. I had a

Thank you for that. It’s incredible that we know touchscreen use kills and manufacturers continue replacing tactile controls with software. (Mazda’s dial/button control is excellent.)

Finally! Somebody realized that aping mobile interfaces doesn’t make sense for a car’s infotainment system. It’s insane to me that manufacturers optimize for first-use one these. Like owners are going to delete it and download a competitor on the app store if it isn’t immediately familiar.

Actually that presets a case for mass transit.

I prefer to picture the Predator driving it while getting increasingly frustrated because he’s stuck in LA gridlock trying to get to his middle management IT job.

I think your coming to the same conclusion Elon must have come to at some point over the last few years.
