The issue is not the price but the fact that if you love these cars, you’d rather build it yourself. Yes, you’d spend more money and probably not get as good a result but that’s not the point. You wouldn’t have the connection with it that’s almost required when putting up with how an almost 50 year old car drives and

They are not bringing skyactiv-x over anytime soon and they shouldn’t.

That is what it is all about. People bought manuals because they were the standard on base and lower trims. As soon as automatics stopped being a $ option and became cheap to produce, manuals died.

Clearly, they would like to bring in the odd St. Vincent fan or casual BotW/Switch player.

Shouldn’t whoever put the 121k on it have suffered those repairs? Or are you saying that the design is trash and the fuel pump etc, will always go?

Since Mazda doesn’t have the output of Toyota, I’m guessing they are focusing on releasing it in markets where they desire more economy and have more strict mpg requirements.

If people want truly autonomous driving then mass transit is the fastest way to get there. We just need to invest as much in that infrastructure as we do in driver assist programs.

I am not a truck guy. I’m not even an SUV guy. The gymnastics people are doing to justify why they love or hate this thing in the comments are ridiculous.

Depending on your distance and load, it will be a pain to tow. Unless, you are just going down the street, you’re going to have to charge, which is time consuming. Also, those charging stations aren’t exactly built for pulling up to with a trailer. Should make an interesting daily driver though. I’m not holding my

Nah

If it’s just a prettier exterior in the same car we have now, it’s not enough. The current interior is a joke and following the recent failed updates to the MDX and RDX will only make it less reliable.

I’m glad Hyundai/Kia have been coming up with their own designs instead of making knock offs of other brands. However, there is something about their cars that feels like they are playing dress up as opposed to being actually attractive. It’s like seeing a beautiful woman, then seeing the 10 layers of make up on her

I may represent a small market but I did cross shop a Mazda3 with the cars you mentioned. I have never owned a “luxury” car and was looking at entry level models. However when compared to the Mazda3 the only real advantage they had was the badge. So I went with much more affordable option. I imagine others would do

Just one person’s opinion but after a lot of cross shopping and hand wringing I bought a fully loaded Mazda3.

To those who have driven/owned one; how do you like the push button shifting on this or other cars in general.

I would really like to know how many stick shift RWD stans that live on these boards really own or buy those cars.

Because I don't want to pay $150 a seat to look at the back of some ball boy's head for three and a half hours.

I guess if you can afford one you're not interested in keeping longer than a few years. There's always a newer, faster, techier model around the corner.

Mazda has already done that. We don’t even sniff the 2.0 liter engine in the US.

They are probably thinking more Acura/Infinity than MB/BMW.
