I'll add that Motorweek is, apparently, intentionally written/scripted to avoid controversy and criticism. And in most instances it does so lazily, parroting almost verbatim the words of the marketeers. It's a series of images presented in sequence that doesn't really tell you anything insightful about the car being

My analysis is wrong? Motorweek imparts little or no actual information that cannot be gleaned by a 30 second glance on any of dozens of websites. Opinions are rare and heavily disguised when offered.

"And it’s behind the lens of Top Gear USA tonight."

I want a 4C vs Cayman vs Elise comparo NOW!

"Your comment is based on the assumpton that Detroit told them what they wanted."

Does anybody ever click on this???? STOP SPAMMING

There wasn't just an instant switch away from these floaty body-on-frame dinosaurs. Older people saw the things offered by the likes of this car as luxury and calculate that baby boomers were heading into their 50s when this car hit the market.

How many V6 Mustangs is that?

7 contintents not 5 (Europe, Asia, Africa, Antarctica, Australia, North & South America), but yeah I thought the same thing.

The UK crew seems to spend about 9 months of every year together, working on the show, filming, and doing Top Gear Live on tour, and they've been doing the show for 10 years now.

I get the impression the US hosts are together for about 6-8 weeks for filming and then go their separate ways.

Well, any of these cars can be too much to handle, but the ones with the reputations for killing the driver are the likes of the SLR/SLS, Ford GT, etc. I did get to autocross an F430 and it was very composed and controllable, just turned up to an 11.

You used to always have a large contingent of teens/early 20s into cars — from the model T to rat rods to the 50s hot rods to muscle cars. I grew up in the 80s and it was still around then. Now, not so much, car enthusiasm has shrunken so much and people don't know how to do the most basic things.

I always had a thing for the Pontiac Banshee

Oh and then about a year ago I got to autocross and F430. <drooooooooool>

I had a similar supercar experience years ago — Gallardo, F430, DB9, Ford GT, Bentley Continental GT, Corvette Z06.

As long as it competes on output and efficiency, who gives a fuck? There are advantages to pushrod designs, you know.

It's a car!

We were going to go for "Alfa Male" but it's sexist and we are PBS

"BOO"? I think he's got the wrong caped crusader...

Mercedes dealerships kiss your ass inside their marble palaces... You pull into a sheltered service hangar and your car is valet parked where you are escorted to your service advisor with "good day, sir" being said 3 or 4 times along the way. I'm not sure if you're supposed to tip these guys or what. Huge lounge
