Nope. It looks like a commercial for Jergen’s lotion “for all ages and skin types.” And there’s no Cher in there.

She really does elevate every production she’s in. Great actors like her are able to do that.

Excuse me, Chewy the *Flerken* Cat. ;-)

Fun fact: AudioMachine, the studio that makes a large percentage of the music for movie trailers, has almost all of their songs available free on Amazon Music. All full, song-length tracks. It is my go-to work music.   Just hours and hours of epic music!

Had to brighten it a ton in photoshop but HELL YES

Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Toprak came to the U.S. as a teenager, earning degrees from Boston’s Berklee College of Music and Cal State Northridge. She spent time programming at Hans Zimmer’s studio, eventually scoring video games, films and TV. Her additional-music credit on “Justice League” helped her land the

Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel and Buffy would make a hell of a team...

Is that Chewie the cat hiding on the left side of the poster?!

Mrs. Maisel was one of the best things I have seen in my life. It wasn’t the most profound television, it didn’t make me feel deeply about the human condition, but it wasn’t shallow, either, and it did what it did sublimely. It is a perfection of form.

Honestly teared up when I saw she'd won. Been watching her for 20 years, feels good to see her being recognized. There's a long ass way to go, but still, nice.

Right? I hope that’s part of the movie’s soundtrack because I will watch it twice just to close my eyes and listen to the movie.

Emmys still have a long way to go but, damn, they have given Regina King 3 Emmys for roles that portray different aspects of modern Black Women as the strong, complex humans they are. She has beat out some of the best actresses in the game in the process.

Mrs. Maisel is an outstanding show. It deserved the awards it won last night and will win more if they bring it the way they did in Season 1.

Crissle from The Read took a poll of black people last night asking if she should watch it. She got a yes, 60% to 40%.

I was really on my viewing game this past year because I watched most of the shows that represented at the Emmys, Barry, Mrs. Maisel, Killing Eve, Seven Seconds, Westworld, etc. Good, good TV, y’all.

This is all very interesting, but I think first we need to gather the opinions of white women at Jezebel since they are now the arbiters of race, culture, and privilege here at The Root.

I believe Regina King won in best actress limited series but Sandra Oh was nominated for best actress drama series (so not against each other). Why do I have recall of these things? Then again, the limited series categories provided the most surprises for me.

When are Christian Siriano and Leslie Jones going to have a TV show together? Because literally every time they get put in the same room together it is magic. That time he was designing a dress for her and she was so thrilled that he drew her actual haircut on the sketch was amazing.
