That is a very legitimate fear.

You must never let him live this down.
The Thing holds up so well because it focuses more on atmosphere and tension than jump scares. It's a movie that can really get inside your head. Plus, it's got a great script and great acting, which make it eminently re-watchable even for people who don't scare so easily.
Actually, that's a lie. I'm nowhere close to regaining my faith in humanity.
Just when I'm beginning to regain faith in humanity, you have to go and remind me how horribly efficient we are at killing each other.
The Permian Extinction was even worse.
It's the Edgar Wright iteration, which means that Pym or O'Grady, Ultron or no Ultron, this will probably be the best incarnation of Ant-Man anyone has ever seen.
I could think of worse places to be.
Just imagine how great the cast chemistry will be now that they have like 50 old people to be moral compasses for the group!

Brilliant? Yes. Subtle? Not by a long shot.
"Universal healthcare is evil socialism!"
Well, a lot of Americans hate Ayn Rand because her ideas of unregulated capitalism and general douchebaggery have made a strong foothold in our government and are destroying our economy. So yeah, still not as bad as Stalin or Mao or Kim by a long shot, but still worthy of scorn.
I don't think it's possessiveness. Other movies have managed to develop strong geek followings despite being popular among the unwashed masses. I think it ultimately just comes down to the fact that Avatar is lacking in any real substance for fans to rally behind.
I wouldn't say I even dislike Avatar so much as I just don't think about it. It's not a movie that sticks with you in any substantial way.
Ahh. That makes much more sense.
Bwahahahaha!
Dothraki, Elvish, and Klingon I can see, but are there really people out there who geek out over Avatar enough to speak Na'vi?
