Further proof that heavy metal really is the official musical genre of the nerd world.

Not sure why you included Disney as an overrated hype machine. They've been killing it lately with their various properties.

I had this in high school, thanks to a mystery illness that turned out to be a reaction to my acne medication. When it was cold out, my hands would look just like the top left photo. Thankfully, it never got too bad. I never really had any pain; just numbness. Warming myself up and moving my fingers usually

:slow clap:

Wait, there's a younger Cronenberg carrying on the family body horror tradition? This is wonderful news!

Yeah, that scene always leaves me feeling conflicted. A combination of "wow, they actually flipped the truck!" with "Why the hell couldn't Nolan have used CGI to get rid of the damn smoke?"

And you posted Eva Unit 01, which is definitely the coolest looking one of the bunch.

Who is Team Charlie Jane supposed to be up against? Team Annalee? Team Esther?

Well, the trailer makes it sound like Pa Kent dies, so Ma Kent as played by Diane Lane might need some comforting...

Yeah, and at least the misogyny of Craig Bond seems to be rationalized by the fact that he's clearly damaged goods.

Yes.

I was also irritated by Grave of the Fireflies because of how much misery was caused by the older brother's actions. I felt it undermined the whole "horror of war" angle. Maybe I'll have to re-watch it now that I know it's semi-autobiographical.

Only if they make it really obvious that it's a remake of Requiem for a Dream, but refuse to give Aronofsky any credit for inspiring it. It's the least he deserves for Black Swan.

Agreed. Great character drama, TERRIBLE science fiction.

Bravo. This is the kind of 2001-esque weirdness I wish the movie had the guts to explore in more detail.
