We could promote Pluto and its brethren, but what happens when we discover that HD10180 has more dwarf planets than we do? As a solar system with (arguably) intelligent life, shouldn't we be the ones to act like grown-ups and end this silly race? If not, when does the madness end?!

Hmmm. This trailer gives off a bit of a Miyazaki vibe, specifically, Nausicaa and Mononoke. And I'm very okay with that.

You said exactly what I was thinking.

Because nerdery and coolness are not opposing forces? I'd think an io9 poster would already know this.

"Mortality Rose" sounds like a Sleeping-Beauty-themed death metal band.

I don't think the presence of feathers changes the shape of its skeleton....

Holy crap, I didn't know Todd McFarlane posted on io9!

Indeed he is.

I was really hoping this would be an announcement for a Preacher adaptation. Curse your false-hope-giving titles, io9!

I'm not familiar with Bulfinch and have no idea what it has to do with Campbell being overused as a writing crutch.

An excellent resource for sure (Just look at how following its guidelines made George Lucas seem like a decent storyteller) but I feel it's been overused and abused over the years. Hence the nauseatingly high number of movies about heroes with daddy issues.

"If he had spent more time fleshing out the characters and their actions and motivations rather than the setting, it would have been a much better story. "

Well, Mike Myers and Jack Black were both a lot less obnoxious in animated form. And Sandler's been playing a cartoon character for pretty much his entire career anyway, so maybe playing an actual cartoon character will make him a bit more tolerable?

Steve Dillon's design of Arseface was really true to life, wasn't it?

Great artwork, but the custom headbands for the turtles are a little too "Next Mutation" for my liking.

The thagomizer could use some work, but overall, that's pretty awesome!
