They are collecting my gizmodo comments and doing what, exactly with them? Are they tying them to my SB Nation comments? Those are the only two gardens I visit via a Facebook ID.

I thought I was in a bad mood, but it’s been a few years so I guess this is just who I am now.
How often do you consume the same content? I mean if you watch the same TV show or movie over and over again or have a three song playlist, I suppose that could reduce your overall data usage. The reality is bulk downloading content you may or may not eventually get to actually increases the amount of data you…
They most certainly do have elections and voting is mandatory, with turnout above 99.9%.
My only Facebook exposure is to comment on non-Facebook sites where a Facebook account is required to login. I was an early adopter of Facebook, but quit the platform over a decade ago when it became less about sharing pictures of my kids with their grandma and more about serving me political ads.
It gets really fun when the guy (it’s always a guy) who had that job six people ago converted those spreadsheets to Access as is, without any thought for database design. Throw in a switchboard and some very rudimentary VBA, and you have “an application”.
AMEN! If I’m stupid enough not to do the research required to avoid a cheap knockoff battery then my DNA line should stop with me for the benefit of our species. It’s NOT THAT HARD, people!
And said person deserves to to have their device go up in flames for being a moron, but why should everyone who does the research required to find quality parts installed by a qualified person be required to pay Apple nearly double the going rate?
Does that DBMS actually exist? I haven’t played with a lot of the hobby languages, sticking to MSSQL and Oracle for my whole career. I could see an application language doing that - there are so many where “flexibility” (usually in the form of very weak type casting) is a “feature”.
Just declare everything variant and let the system figure it out. What could possibly go wrong? /s
That was my big takeaway too. How is ASCII (0) = ASCII (78 85 76 76)? What moron designed that system?
We’ll all be wearing scramble suits outside the house in a few years anyway.
I’m with you. I keep phones a long time (jumped from the 4 to the 6 to the X) and I’ve had to replace several batteries on each phone. A $40 waterproof case would last multiple batteries for me.
It’s absolutely possible to have a removable battery and still be waterproof, but the design compromises it requires would mean no one would buy it. Look no further than underwater power tools (Nemo makes a line) as proof it’s possible, but check out the price, overall unappealing aesthetic, and the fact that the…
You should just tell them you’re a traditionalist representing the true intent of the original author.
I watched the first two seasons of The Real World before disavowing TV for a few years. A roommate pulled me back in to watch an episode of Survivor season 1 and my primary memory of it was wondering how could he enjoy something so obviously disingenuous masquerading as reality. The Gold Rush shows finally got me…
They most definitely do not. This is a blog site, not a journalistic news site.
How about the hot wind your car AC blows for the first few seconds when you’ve been parked in the sun for hours? For some reason, my company only covered half the side parking lot and the half that’s covered is more distant from the building. Every morning, I walk across an almost empty 1/2 parking lot because all the…
Curious. Do you live in a rural area? I’ve literally never had a Prime item take 4 days to deliver. If I order on my lunch break, the majority of goods are sitting on my porch when I get home. I frequently choose the no rush option for the little bit of credit and it’s still there two days later.
