To be honest when I lived in Montana the ground clearance I had with my Outback was awesome. It can dump snow in the mountains and they only plow the major roadways the first few days. Sometimes the major roadways arent plowed for a few hours and with it snowing 12"/hr the residents can really use ground clearance. Or

I hope to take your word for it....I really dont want to be in an accident more violent that what I have experienced. Even though they were fender benders, they somehow reset how I view vehicle safety.

What about a nondividend highway (think country road) and speed limit is 55mph. There is a truck coming at you in the other lane (also at 55mph). They are drunk and they swerve violently into your lane at the last second for no reason. Boom, head on collision. There is no way for you to avoid that unless you pull over

lol, I really dont have a lot of fears. I just think we significantly underestimate the “safety” of new cars vs old cars. I remember recalling the GM ad where they crashed an old vs new malibu....an interesting sight to see:

I do! I always thought the Taco be a perfect looking truck. Sat inside one and immediately wanted to get out. Same with the 4Runner....just a tough looking little rig for generations. Tundra was different and refresh did add toughness. The sedans are blah on purpose. The sports cars of old are great (MR2, first 3

I have found you, the match to my hate-of-toyota soul. The cars look awesome. They are super reliable. But they SUCK to drive.

Wrong. You are making your variable (the driver) as safe as possible. What about when you stop at a redlight and someone comes barreling behind the person behind you. You cant see the Dodge Ram 3500 going 55mph behind the Kia Sorento thats directly behind you. The Ram is going to shove the Sorento into your rear

I mean, when its my life on the line, I do take safety seriously. I love the “tin can” aspect of older cars and have had my fair share of them (datsun 510 & BMW 2002tii, among other old trucks) but realize that for commuting purposes it just not worth being seriously injured over a minor incident.

All the preparedness in the world wont save you from an inattentive teen running a red light and they T-bone that thin metal Ford called a door back in the 60s.

Nothing is too wide with enough tire, horsepower, and balls:

The large carbon weaved roof is like truffle on french fries..... Amazing.

Its simply glorious. Now please make the MSRP $25,000. Thanks.

I am an engineer who spent a LOT of time with suspension design and road/tire interface. Mathematically its a terrible design. You can make it work, but its still super flawed from basic design principles.

Interestingly, they dont use this design anymore. I wonder why?!?!?! Even with all the “fixes” its still a terrible design. Its OK to like something and admit its flaws.

^this guy......

Again, YOU walked into this conversation. YOU were the one who had to but in and proclaim your bad jokes. YOU were the one who got insecure about the jokes reception.

You are a pathetic asshole. You made a bad joke and are claiming I am an asshole because the joke sucked. Move on. Youre not funny. The Corvair needs to be gone from the earth.
