I would argue that it does not count as getting away if the encounter with the security measures renders the would-be getter-away unable to continue within sight of said security measures.
Way back there was an article here on bollard testing. It was for government facilities against terrorism.

Bollards don’t play. If done right there they are about as close as you can find to an immovable object.
One thing I absolutely would buy into on a modern truck is some sort of clever built-in universal phone mount with bluetooth. You just stick your phone onto the dash and use it as the screen, play the audio through the speakers. I don’t even want a radio.

Unfortunately, some people will commit suicide regardless of how supportive their environment is. Two well known examples are Robin Williams and Naomi Judd. Both had loving environments, but the depression was overwhelming.

But the reason FoxConn had to install anti-suicide measures is because journalists were too stupid or lazy to do basic math. Their slanted reporting resulted in bad PR, and since the public couldn’t properly be educated, FoxConnhad to install anti-suicide nets to appease them.
