Waiting to see a “rust patina” wrapped Defender in 3,2,1...

As soon as someone uses the word “aluminium” to sell something, the price goes way the hell up.  Rusty "aluminium" apparently goes even further up.

That’s where my mind is. This device subscription isn’t so bad, in and of itself, but the ramifications for cars — this will get ridiculous fast. Tesla is certainly really, really, really on board with these concepts. Imagine the car maker who decides to remotely disable your car as soon as it hits the 10 year mark,

KIA is Best Worst, right? I’ll be damned if I’m going to die in a car crash driving a KIA.  Thank God they don't make motorcycles.

There is a bolted on Bolt bolt on, but it isn’t being recalled.

I was hoping for a Bolt bolt recall.  Too bad.  Maybe next time.

The Never Moven

I’m going to have to estimate the average Jalop is very certain what 100 km/h is. At the latest, I was 10 years old and had to do the conversion while reading car mags to see just how quick cars were 0-60 mph. I always knocked a tenth or two off the 0-100 km/h time to be able to keep the 0-60 mph hierarchy straight.

I'm in this one group that has a strange predilection for brown station wagons.

I think I would feel safer driving my car from a lawn chair bolted to the front bumper than driving this. This thing is giving me anxiety just looking at it.

Be cool and jump out the car, that’s what you do. Reminds me of a 6' long diamondback rattlesnake I hit in the head with a large adjustable wrench (was in college in Northern Florida, long story), put in a bag, and proceeded to drop in to the nearby Taco Bell. After a few burritos, I climbed back in my car and started

Agreed. Dogs in cars are not generally the best idea. I had a German Shepherd who got spooked in my truck, while I was driving down the highway. She decided it was a fine idea to hide at my feet, blocking the pedals. Nothing like wrestling a large dog out of the footwell and not being unable to pull off the road.

I nearly choked on my lunch at that.  Overly "courteous" drivers are a disaster on the roads.

San Francisco is the kind of place an electric scooter or e-bike is more optimal than a car. If you like going up super steep, but short, hills, I guess a pedal bike is an option too.

Exactly. To answer, you have to provide pic or screenshot as proof. In Zoom meeting pics. Driving down the road pics. Bathroom stall pics... Then the answers/pics start going off the rails...

Good ol’ Texas -- getting a good taste of "Independence!" lately.  Don't worry, the Californians are coming to help out!  Nothing that a little more of your money can't fix.

I smell a future QOTD -- "What are you doing while commenting on Jalopnik?"   Can't wait for the slideshow.

“In a meeting” and commenting on Jalopnik articles. Priceless sign of the times.

While I AM a big fan of the “city stop”, residents of the City of St. Louis have taken the concept to a whole new level — just passing everyone stopped for a red light or stop sign at absolutely full speed using the bike lane, turning lane, or oncoming traffic lane. Almost every single time, the cars are rocking long

While some Civics are clearly driven one quarter mile at a time, this one was clearly driven one city block at a time. My guess is the majority of miles involved moving the car for the street sweeper, back and forth from parking zones, and to the DMV to get plates.
