To be fair, that vacuum pressure gauge is basically the same as a BMW MPG gauge in every one made since 1980ish. And it IS fun to watch, even if deep down you know it’s not really telling you much.

THIS is correct. I voted NP because these cars are seemingly depreciation-proof. Buy it, drive hoon it for 20k miles, and sell it for $2,000 less than you paid. It’s like driving an almost free car.

Thanks - I had visions of Ford endorsing nitrous systems on the RS...

Can anyone explain the “nitrous” in the description of the car here?

The 2018 BMW X2 has the most honest cynical car design of 2018.

F30 3-series BMWs are depreciating like rocks in a well. I ended up buying a 2011 e90, but I looked at a ton of F30 328i 6MT/Sport Package cars in the $16,000-$19,000 range.

I recently purchased a used car that I knew was subject to the Takata recalls. So I called the dealer after I purchased it, and asked for the first available appointment. They offered me an appointment in four months, due to parts availability. So it’s not just laziness...

Thanks for writing this, David. Love getting a peek under the hood.

I would love to see the build on this. My imagination is running wild...

It chafes me so much that these are so good looking, compared to the 3-series version of the same car. I want to hate it. I hate that there’s this arbitrary 3-series, 4-series difference. I hate even more that BMW violated by making this stupid coupe thing... but look at it, it’s actually kinda good looking.

So, if you want one of 1,000 Founders Series (terrible name, BTW), you have to pay up-front for the reservation? Gotta love ole Uncle Elon’s gumption.

What are you worried about? This is definitely far too nice for you. You can get roughly 25 rusted-out XJs for $22,500.

Bravo. Great restoration.

I have a ‘13 Outback. It is a great choice for two kids, groceries, and camping gear. Add a roof-rack mounted cargo box and you’ll never run out of room.

That spy shot looks like a baby G-wagen from the 3/4 view. Love it. I’ve driven Jimmys overseas and have had a blast. Would definitely put on my list.

Just wind this baby up to 88MPH, head back to the evening in question and ... the problem takes care of itself.

I imagine some evil genius in a design studio somewhere with your picture on the wall, nervously drumming his fingers as he puts these ideas out into the world for you to find.

This looks killer. Now on a scale from “never gonna happen” to “not freaking likely,” how likely is a real manual transmission?

This is the best jalop I’ve read all year. More Torch’n’Tracy collaborations, please.
