Damn, this is the nicest nice price in a while. It’s perilously close to “screw it, I’mma buy that motherfucker” territory.

Congratulations on collecting three viable answers!

Came here to post this.

Very well said.

Whether the dynamic is ignorance or absent-mindedness or smugness, it doesn’t matter. It creates an unsafe situation in addition to being rude. Plus it’s illegal. Since when has ignorance of the law been an excuse?

I think we might have reached peak David Tracy with this comparison. The only thing that would have made it more David Tracy is for you to have broken down and rescued the CJ with a more broke-down-POS.

Something tells me the gmaps time estimate is off...

My recommendation is to loosen the oil filler cap, and just barely unseal the filter in vertical applications. That breaks the vacuum and lets it drain into the crankcase before you loosen the rest of the way.

I did a short stint on the Smart advertising business. So we rented them from car sharing services in NY a lot. I HATED driving the gas model because of the transmission. The electric model was SO fun to drive in NY, though. It had gobs of torque and cut out the terrible transmission. I loved those things.

This is exactly what the American luxury brands should be doing. Forget winning the sedan wars. Focus on making modern luxury crossovers that look the business and have no-compromise great interiors.

I think he was just saying that it was 80% of WRX, STi and BRZ models.

Are you saying they’re importing them from CKDs? I noticed that lovely little acronym on one of the axels...

I also rented one in Costa Rica. I LOVED driving the thing. Until, that is, all of our luggage was stolen out of the back of it. It was still fun, but guilt-tinged after that.

Shout out to Gourmet Kingdom.

These are all great suggestions. Except the Viper.

I don’t have the numbers handy, but I wonder whether it would compare to the BMW in resale. f30 3-series have been depreciating like stones. When I was shopping for an early f30, real-world values were $3,000-4,000 less than what some of the owners owed on their notes.

We have a 2013 Outback. It was the only player that hit the sweet spot of space, practicality and reasonable price. If this thing is well equipped at $30K and if it’s spacious inside, then I could see this standing in for the $45K Allroad.

You did it right - you bought responsibly at a rate that was affordable. You now have a car that will last you another 10 years. And you have a job that affords you the opportunity to drive more “exciting” cars when you get the itch.

Those double-sided Cook Out locations are genius if you have a RHD car. The side where the window is on the “passenger side” always has a shorter line.

Shout out for the Harbor Freight torque wrench. I felt guilty buying a cheap torque wrench...than you for assuaging my guilt.
