Actually, I thought it was a pretty ordinary horror film that was just very well made. Like, craft-wise.

Yeah. I’ve always described these books as “pulpy fun”.

It also looks like they’ve nerfed the “slow zone incident” a bit.

For the non-book-readers (spoilers for this scene in the books), when the ships are stopped in the books everyone who is not in a crash couch gets turned to paste, like Mateo. The majority of people in the combined fleet are killed. The ships are

I’ve always wondered if it would be a comfortable way to fall asleep. Like, just floating in zero g.

Agreed. My side take to this is that because so much of horror film world for the past 20 years has been absolute drek that when people see something that is just competent then they tend to hail it as genius.

I definitely think there was some absurdism at play in Hereditary. The scene where Collette is describing trying to light her kids on fire as if it’s just a totally normal side effect of sleepwalking and can’t understand why people can’t just get over it made me chuckle.

When I saw The Strange Thing About The Johnsons

I’ll stop what I am doing for Jenny Nicholson too.

Can someone explain to me what exactly Sizemore’s great supposed crimes have actually been other than not trying to get murdered by a bunch of robots? Like what has he actually done that is so evil? I am drawing blanks here (although I could be forgetting something obvious).

I feel like if we’re listing morally

Came down here to say just this.

    “What if cell phones...............but..........................TOO MUCH!!!”

I often hear people say things like “the film should stand on its own”, however, that’s ignoring how franchises actually work. None of the Marvel films, for example, work on their own anymore. Not even close. When you’re building out a massive IP that spans film, TV, novels, comics, and video games it’s not wrong to

If you stream it through Amazon already, there is no censorship.

This is kind of a perfect description of Westworld for me. Like, I’ll always show up because it’s never *boring* but the whole thing feels like an episode of Black Mirror that’s been stretched out way too long.

And you could say this about literally any story where there is misery. Hell, why tell stories anyway based on your logic!

Thanks for coming all the way down into the comments section for a show you don’t like to give us your edgiest false-dichotomy.

I respect your right to your opinion, but also fuck you.

They’re definitely starting Abbadon’s Gate stuff this season.

We thought that about Rogue One too. But honestly, once I heard that Howard was taking over, I was confident we would at least get a decent film. You don’t shell out the big bucks for someone of that caliber for no reason.

I still think a Han Solo movie is unnecessary, but if we’re going to do it then it might as well

Yeah, my reaction was something along the lines of, “oh great, kids are ruining blood magick now. Aleister Crowley is rolling in his grave!”

Nah. It was easily the best song. It was exactly what a Eurovision song should be. Catchy and campy as hell. The chicken noises were fun and why so many people liked the song. It brought something quirky and memorable to the game. And Netta actually is pretty talented.

Also, she never said Toy was some complex,

For what it’s worth, you can suggest Netflix pick it up.

Oh, give me a fucking break dude. This has literally been Star Wars MO since the originals. But now all of the sudden it “breaks the universe”.

You know what else “breaks the universe”? Walking around inside a space worm inside an asteroid without any protective gear. Going to a bunch of planets that must all magically
