I am a male in his 30's and this idea that I need the same stuff from my childhood is weird. I AM NOT EIGHT YEARS OLD ANYMORE. I like different stuff than I did when I was 8. I don't need the stuff I liked in the 1980's endlessly recycled. I can find new stuff!

I have one friend on Facebook who is SO upset about this remake. I want to reiterate to him that making a new one doesn't actually delete the old one. It's not like when you inadvertently save over an old file. The old one and all of its paraphernalia and memories will still exist, completely intact.
