Season 2 is better than expected.

Interesting. Thanks for the info.

Have to disagree that they wasted time in the first season setting up how he “becomes” Perry Mason. I mean, it’s an origin story.

That scene was so tense for me -- I was convinced the club was going to get raided.

I don’t think Anita is tied up with the McCutcheon conspiracy or has any ulterior motives. The threat seems to be exactly what we saw in this episode: Della’s infatuation is causing her to be indiscreet and people are taking notice, both in her personal and professional lives.

I’ve also suspected something is up between the Gallardos all along, and every week I get a little more frustrated that Perry continues to treat them as a single defendant. Speak with them one-on-one, their stories are not going to line up!

I’m starting to get really bummed out that Season 2 is likely the end of this.

Random thoughts:

For me it’s not that I don’t trust Anita, or distrust her for that matter, it’s just that it is really difficult to get a hold over the storyline itself. It feels like something out of another show and has that bizarre Della cheating on someone we only saw for the first time this season getting angry at Della about

Milligan’s expression when Burger warned him about Perry’s craftiness cracked me up so hard. I actually admire how utterly loathsome the character comes across with such little time.

I dunno, I just don’t trust Della’s new girlfriend. I have a feeling Della’s being set up for something...everything just seems to be a bit too easy and idyllic for the two of them.

“The jury will disregard Mr Mason’s latest comment.”

Another good episode. I’d quibble with giving the brothers that motivation—a dead sister—for killing McCutcheon. Felt too contrived. Having them forcibly removed from their homes was good enough. And nice job backdating the real coerced displacement of those communities in order to build Dodger Stadium and including

Also I admire the producers of Mason for their verisimilitude but they got that lesbian bar wrong historically. (So does Ryan Murphy... always) But they did borrow from the early 50's. There was a bar owned by a fine singer, Beverly Shaw called Club Laurel that she would sing at. And it was upscale to a degree.

While Della and Anita were at the club, I thought their stalker would call the police, who’d then raid the place, outing Della and besmirching her for the jury. This still might happen.

I said “Baby was right” aloud at the Roger Rabbit moment. Glad other people picked up on it!

Extremely tight episode and loved how complex the storylines became without ever losing the threads. Again the cinematography in this show is almost without peer, but damn the lighting in the jail with the bars shadowing the Gallardos, or the long shot of Mason in his kitchen, diffused light streaming through the

Don’t get me wrong, I love this series, but I kinda wish Della Street was the star.  I just love what they’ve done with her character, and she’s so fun to watch.

Free produce? I smell a trip to Sunny Market coming in the future.

Hello Della! (God Bless Juliet Rylance.) I wasn’t expecting that morning scene, and Ms. Street to be in her own Luca Gaudagnino movie over her weekend. The lovers kissing in front of the sunset was gorgeous. So was the shot in the city where she’s waiting for Anita. And Ginny outside Perry’s apartment. The entirety of
