So, like, The [old] Mary Sue, but on television?
I get the opposite-my first letter is always flipping back and forth depending on my mood, but my last 3 have been staunch for the last 15 years.
There's a lot of women in "It" these days. What do I have to do to get on the career fast track for that?
Starring to promote. Great article, thanks for sharing.
No, please-go on. As a 12 year + active duty servicemember, who has no experience how the military works, I value your opinion.
Dude, I get it. You think Marines should meet the set, historical standard. I'm saying that the standard is completely arbitrary and obsolete, being in no way a real measurement of upper body strength in a combat situation.
I guess I'm arguing with another poster in this thread that pull-ups do not a combat effective Marine make, and this just backed up my argument! Thanks! And from one servicemember to another-thank you for your service! (Navy here.)
Do either of the Army's fitness tests require pull-ups? Just asking...
Again, are those 55% failing the COMBAT FITNESS TEST? You know, the one with COMBAT in the title? Is the CFT lacking in a way that Marines are not prepared for combat by having a dead-hang pull-up not included?
55% sounds like a failure in training, not so much in individuals.

This is probably going to get lost in the shuffle, but my more interesting celebrity crushes are from when I was 5.
Unfortunately, while I can't take credit for it because I'm just not that awesome, my favorite is: "Got laid parade."
I was actually in Kaneohe Bay at the Marine base, but I lived in Waimanalo. Barber's closed down a while ago, and all the Naval aviation folks moved to KBay.
My fault for not reading more carefully-long day on this end, too! Cheers!
That's really interesting! My experience in Hawaii was the exact opposite-for 3 years, the house I lived in was the only one on the (fairly large) street occupied by non-Hawaiian/Samoan/Asian people (and we were all military.)
I think the issue of race is a very big deal, especially for those who live it every day, and they're not wrong. I usually try my best to mostly listen and not speak, because I don't share that experience.
I volunteer to have multiple husbands to help make up the difference.
