I fill out forms about race randomly now. Whenever I see it it seems like they are always seeking a particular answer. Like this list for exampme: white, black, asian, Mexican, Guatemalan, Chilean etc... I usually put Irish, French, or English in the other box.

Thank you for mentioning this. The amount of comments pouring in defending Paul Walker’s history of preying on teenagers were absolutely disgusting. Him being dead or alive doesn’t change the fact that a grown man dating teenagers is gross and inappropriate and it’s perfectly valid for people to call him out on it.

I did a huge research project for my refugee law class about the causes for refugee claims by Chinese nationals in Canada, and everything I found out about government controls on access to information — to say nothing of the level of surveillance on many citizens — made me sick.

I wonder how many people in China know this is going on. It’s amazing how their government controls information, even in the internet age. Lots of blocked pages.

Have protests ever worked in China? I’m thinking no, but open to being pleasantly surprised.
