Have Australians not perfected the art of passive-aggressive feedback? If the problem is that the notes are too aggro, then do what I did when I lived in NYC: Left “helpful” post-it notes informing them that, for example, it’s illegal to park in a bus lane. I think I usually even put “thanks! :)” at the end.

Here’s my rule of thumb (I’m sure there are exceptions): If it’s passively happening to you, you’re affected. If you’re the proactive one in the scenario, you are effecting change.

Well, I stupidly told my mother that I was leaving her religion only 20 minutes or so into the drive back to college after Thanksgiving break. We were in bumper-to-bumper traffic going maybe 10mph and she somehow still managed to nearly swerve off the road. Then she DID pull off the road and tried to take me back home

You gotta upgrade to the BrightDrop Zevo line for fancy features like that!

UAW knows they’re not going to get 100% of every demand. I’m a little surprised Fain decided to include the 4-day work week in there, because ain’t no way, but also grateful that he so publicly shoved that issue into the American conversation because of the studies coming out of Europe right now about how well the

In short: It’s going to be BAD. https://www.crainsdetroit.com/auto-suppliers/ford-bronco-seating-supplier-lays-650-due-uaw-strike

Medical dispatch probably SHOULD be concerned about an unmanned F-35, because it could very easily crash into a highway or house and cause a whole hell of a lot more damage and injury. Although I don’t know if 911 was the right number to call first - if the pilot was able to move around and think/speak coherently (as

He didn’t pay $78 for a burger. He paid $17 (plus tax and tip, so let’s round up and call it $25 to be generous) for the burger. He inflated the cost of the burger by more than 200%.

Right? “Conservative pundit lies to make a shitty point, news at eleven.”

Gosh that makes me sad for her. I hope she’s happy, wherever she is now.

They’re saying that the perpetrators aren’t taking “no I don’t want your help” for an answer, maybe they’re physically taking control of the pump. Which is where my favorite advice comes into play: Out-crazy them. Go wide-eyed and start rambling about how credit cards are tools of the great devil, the only Covid

When questioned why he was selling town vehicles to his daughter for so little, Gordanier said, “She wanted to buy ‘em and so I sold them. It was a lot easier just to do it and be done with it than having to advertise it or anything.”

But he wasn’t elected through the usual process - he was elected by rank-and-file members, not union leadership - and the auto journalists I know who’ve met him think he’s an honest guy. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

“The privacy team is so private that no one knows who they are”?????

I will say that LGA is vastly improved and worth a look if you’re flying into the area. But I assume they haven’t solved their biggest problem, which is the inadequate number of runways that causes so many delays if the weather is even halfway gross.

LGA was awful pre-renovation but I loved it because I lived close - on a good day I could get from my couch to my gate in under 30 minutes with Pre-Check - and it was smaller and easier to navigate than JFK. Newark has always been my least favorite airport, although Atlanta and O’Hare are close behind.

I will say that I know (well, used to know) a guy who trained and applied multiple times to the NYPD and AFAIK still has not gotten into the academy. He’s not the worst person I’ve ever known but definitely not the right fit to be a cop, and the fact that even the NYPD won’t take him is encouraging.

I was at the Detroit Auto Show this weekend and their underground parking garage has approximately one bazillion concrete support posts. Intellectually I knew that should make me feel very safe, but all I could think of was “what happens if one side of the building starts sliding into the Detroit River and these posts

By “someone” I assume you mean Elon... the very last person on earth I’d trust to build a supervolcano.

Bud, that’s their opening offer, not their best and final. Fain is a firebrand but I don’t think he’s unreasonable - I bet he’d go down to 30% pay increase over a couple years and jettison the 32-hour work week idea altogether if most of the other demands are met to some degree.
