I live in BC and I think our minimum wage is still $11.35 and over a dollar less for servers (supposed to go up to $15 and 14 sooon) and I always tip between 15-20%. I never really considered adjusting this based on that.

I think that by this point, it’s pretty much just accepted and maybe even taken for granted. I’m not sure how long it has been in place but when I was born in the 80s, I think my mom only got 3 or 6 months of paid leave.

That’s what we do in Canada. Maternity/parental leave are built into the employment insurance program. So you can take 12 months off at 55% of your last 600 hours of earnings or now another option is to take 18 months at 33%. It blows my mind that mothers in the US must return to work so early.

Burger King also has a veggie burger that I love! Everyone I convince to try it does not feel the same way but most of said people also eat meat so that could be why. I think BK is the only major fast food chain that even offers a veggie option (other than A&W in Canada).
