It's Me, Austin

The Ancient One visually demonstrated the “branches merge back into the main timeline” theory. I really hope that’s not lost on people. She showed AND told.

Completely disagreed re: Thor. He got what he wanted by finally killing Thanos, but it felt empty after he’d failed so catastrophically the first time. He couldn’t help anyone anymore and thus had nothing left to fight for. So he understandably let himself go, both mentally and physically.

Schmidt got all weird after 70 years on Vormir. Must’ve been like when Bran Stark came back to Winterfell.

I thought it was gonna be Falcon because of the “on your left” callback but man, that line combined with the portals and the returned Wakandans just GOT me.

The fact that that’s exactly how Deadpool 2 ends made it that much funnier.

Yeah, the fact that he said “Hail Hydra” AND wielded Mjolnir in the same film, and stayed the good guy the whole time, wasn’t lost on me.

Nah, Loki’s dead dead. If Steve returned the Tesseract to before it got boosted, then Scott isn’t there to short out Tony’s arc reactor, so it doesn’t get dropped, kicked across the floor by Tony and Hulk, or stolen again by Loki.

Granted, it was a Friday afternoon viewing and not everyone was in a cheering mood, but T’Challa, Shuri, and Okoye coming through the portal got the loudest cheers of everyone who showed up for the final battle.

If they never stole it or shorted Stark’s reactor, the Tesseract wouldn’t have been on the ground for Hulk to displace by busting out of the stairwell. QED.

A movie review with the general vibe of “it’s well-made and fun enough but we’ve all seen movies exactly like this a thousand times already” wouldn’t be met with this kind of “WELL IS IT ANY GOOD???” reaction.

He has two league MVPs, three rings, and is already a mortal lock for the Hall of Fame at 31 years old. He doesn’t have anything to prove to you, dude.

Lauren said in the last paragraph that every division winner lost, so yes.

That was the absolute most buckwild power play, let alone period of hockey I’ve ever seen in my life. You could’ve written that as the climax of a big budget hockey movie and it would get thrashed on Rotten Tomatoes for being too absurd.

I think the Soul Stone had a LOT to do with the lives being taken and I get the feeling Endgame is going to touch on that quite a bit.

Boy, that would’ve made it REALLY weird when he found out that Kurt Russell is his dad.

He redeemed himself in Thor’s and Asgard’s eyes in The Dark World (I know, I forget that movie too). Thor still threatened to kill him when he realized Loki was disguising himself as Odin.

You do know “far from the worst” means “among the best,” right?

We shit on Simmons a lot here, but I will forever be a fan of the Reggie Cleveland All-Stars.

Specifically when her gun runs out of ammo, she does a “fuck this” sigh, and whips the sword back out.

He’s a child. Children aren’t exactly Bob Fosse.
