There’s certainly a degree of extra planning and strategy that goes into choosing which units get deployed, but you’re going to have to do that anyway once Flayn joins your house and you recruit other teachers, faculty, and knights later on. Recruiting is worth it just for the character interactions, honestly. I didn’t care too much about recruitment in my first run but I went all out in my second and third and even if you don’t bother deploying the characters, their support conversations are delightful. I’m nearing the end of my Blue Lions playthrough (already done Church and Black Eagles) so I’ll be happy to recruit these new kids in my Golden Deer run. Someday.
