I'm going to be honest, he's a whole lot more sensuous to me with his scruff, I don't know why, but when he's shaved, it does nothing for me. With a beard however, suddenly it goes from "eh, he's nice-body" to "why hello Sir... You can totally melt my Popsicle at any time..."

That's the strangest theory I've heard yet.
I thought Fox's show started strong. I didn't keep up with it though. The little kid was a pain (as a character, not the actor, obviously). He was one of those precocious kids that, if it was the real world, would be in counselling not getting heavy sighs from his parents.
No offence, but that site I just looked through has very little to do with the original execution of the concept that is being memorialized here. My favorite website as a young teen was gurl.com specifically because it didn't have any pictures and very very very little celebrity/entertainment stuff.

I just loved that she said, (on The City? or Kell on Earth?) "If you have to cry, go outside." That and the fierce way she loves her daughter. She's all kinds of awesome in my book.
I think this is one where you have to go and find a relative unknown who can sing. Maybe someone from Broadway? Dolly is such a powerful presence, plus she's still here for us to compare to. I think anyone established is going to bring too much baggage to the role.
