STOP SHORT SHAMING

I'm half kidding...

Sincerely 5'0"

Is famousness like being royalty officially? You don't need to do anything just be born to the right people?

It's just like when people think of NYC and all they talk about is Times Square and the hipsters in Williamsburg.

I'm tired of people saying that at this stage it is spreading because of some "funeral practice of touching the dead." That was true maybe at the very start of the epidemic, but now the citizens of these three nations are just as freaked out as many Americans. People are avoiding shaking hands, some are avoiding all

Bingo! What do I win guys?

I was wondering the same thing. In a way she is "successful" so why would she need some looser? Why would she do this when it ruins the one thing she was good at?

The greatest gaps are found over class and race boundaries. The fact that these gaps become tiny when controlling for these factors indicates that something related to class and race is at the heart of the issue.

My point is that we get this bait and switch where black and brown women and poor women are blamed

One of the reasons black women go to college in such high numbers is there are zero options for women without education. Men still have a shot though not a good one of working in higher paying unskilled labor jobs not open to women. It's complex but all of that gets lost in some of these analysis.

Also I am curious to

You are essentially saying rich people and white people care more about their kids and that's is why the kids do better later in life on things like the SAT. In fact, these kids have more resources and the benefits of privilege. Everyone cares about their kids.

It's not about "caring" it's about class and race privilege. Though, you are correct that there are some questionable causation/correlation assumptions being made in the examples you list.

Also the wage gap between black males and females favours females....

I have heard this before. What is the source?

Thank you! I too left that site after the Martin case. And you are spot on about at least being honest.

Changing ones name holds different significance for me. I was proud to do it since so many of my ancestors in this country did not have the chance to establish families in that way.

So, I don't want it to die an fiery death. Though the idea that it is bad if a family has two names is something that *should* die.

This site has a real racism problem too. There are a ton of good people there but the racist and sexist stuff I got was horrible.

"black hair isn't wash and go hair"

Not true. My hair is wash and go. It's no more difficult or time consuming than white hair.

In fact I spend less time on my hair (and less money) than my white friends.

I hate the implication that black hair is "difficult"

It's amazing. And there are so many things you can do.

"Unfortunately a LOT of assholes use anti-zionism as an excuse to be antisemites. "

This happens all the time and it makes it hard to have a sane conversation. There are plenty of antisemites in the US for example. The tip off is when they start droning on about jews controlling the media like morons.

I love boxing with my cat. He somehow knows to keep his claws in. but you can hear his smacks.

And people want pet tigers...

I don't understand how one could wear such sheer things without being OK with everyone seeing you almost naked.
