I rewatched the first one because I hadn’t seen it since it came out and I was pleasantly surprised to find/be reminded that it was a fairly interesting premise. Then my boyfriend and I went to see Jigsaw over the weekend and I didn’t hate it. So, I went home and watched Saw 2. Umm...that was boring and dumb and now I

Great write-up. I watched this in the reruns on Disney. The Foreverware episode is the one most entrenched in my mind; the big reveal with the twins sleeping in their Foreverwear containers was great.

What always struck me about the “Reality Takes A Holiday” episode is that the set had to be a set of a set. And how did they handle actual stage directions? “Is this a new rewrite? I don’t remember that line.”. “No, Omri, I mean you really did need to come into the scene a couple of seconds earlier.”

With our luck, his moon-laser will go awry and the Moon will just say “RUMP” on it forever.

I thought that too, but I busted a gut the moment he introduced himself.

I was such a fan of the cartoon that it just felt like they thought people were too dumb to understand what Die Fledermaus meant. But it has grown on me.

“We choose to write my name on the moon not because it is easy, but because I am so great. I mean really, really great. It’s unbelievable how many people are telling me how great I am.”

Don’t give him any ideas or the next thing we know there’ll be a giant T on it before 2020.

If that was the trade(lose American Maid, gain BatManuel), I rescind my gripe.

Permissions issue. Fox owned the rights to American Maid since she was created for the cartoon, not the original comics, and for some inane reason refused to license her. Hence Captain Liberty. (Same goes for Die Fledermaus, but then that gave us Batmanuel, which is the best name ever, so it was worth it.)

Mung-mung, comforting Tounge-tounge, who is likewise trapped in Arthur’s body: “He weeps, for he has but one small tongue with which to taste an entire world.”

My only gripe with the show, besides being a little uneven at times, is that they changed the name and persona of American Maid.

Don’t fight like a girl, Janet, fight like a woman!

Are you kidding me? Both Daredevil seasons and Jessica Jones are FANTASTIC. David Tennant (Kilgrave) and D’Onofrio (Fisk) are two of the class A villians in comic history. Luke Cage is a good show, but I have to admit that I didn’t enjoy the Iron Fist as much. Haven’t had a chance to watch the Defenders yet.

I still laugh thinking about the name Batmanuel.

Cookie! I figured it was a given that you’d be coming over, but it’s still good to see you.

If they really wanted to market the thing they should have carved up the moon.

Luke Cage is, overall, good. The music is great and the villains are compelling until the last few episodes. It does get heavy-handed and over-wrought sometimes, but so do I after a few drinks.

It real shame this iteration not find its legs, since, as you point out, casting was pitch-perfect, and Saturday morning cartoon proved that Edlund have seemingly infinite supply of entertainingly insane ideas.

I am really hopeful for the Amazon Tick series. The pilot was pretty great, and I didn’t expect any of the visual effects work they did to pop up like that. I never saw the first live action version, but the cartoon was popular on TV when I was a kid.

Speaking of Defenders, I am four episodes in and liking it. To be
