Yeah, stop copying me y’all.
Yeah, stop copying me y’all.
What is with all the incest as of late? Did Game of Thrones start the grossest trend in recent memory? There’s Cersei and Jamie, the hot new couple on the block, Aunt Dany and her nephew Jon, over in Riverdale there’s the entire Blossom clan that’re just like “lol but we’re cousins it doesn’t count!” and now this?…
I didn’t think he was really dead (or if he was, that he would only be temporarily dead, Jon Snow style), which made me glad that they did the reveal at the end instead of going for a disingenuous fake-out á la superman or, for that matter, Jon Snow.
There was a bit of a “Return of the King” thing going on at the ending. Let’s catch up with everybody and give them all a big moment. Most of them worked, but I never liked the fake character death button pushing. It almost always comes off as cheap like it did here.
I thought they had killed him. I didn’t know season 3 was happening already. And, frankly, I tend to not analyze things much as I’m watching them unless there’s an egregious breach of the rules established by the show. If they hadn’t shown that final shot of Matt would I had been surprised if they resurrected him…
Thanks Sean,
OK. Here’s my next request:
I thought it was pretty absurd that the NYPD would let a couple civilians hang around by themselves in a station and just wander around doing whatever they wanted, including looking at crime scene photos and stealing C4 from the evidence room.
jessica is the best defender
Second only to her utter contempt for DD’s costume.
Which is partially Jessica being Jessica and partially because she’s worn one before.
Weren’t those pictures pinned to the wall by the detectives?
“What does it mean to be a hero?” — A third grade essay by Karen.
I too was disappointed by the lack of Claire and Matt. Like, they didn’t really leave things off in a great place - and back in first season they had wonderful chemistry and an interesting dynamic. I guess they felt there probably wasn’t time for it.
Jessica’s scorn for Danny and his powers was endlessly entertaining.
I know it wasn’t perfect, but overall I really enjoyed the show. I know there was a lot of fan concern regarding the villains - which is valid. I think for me personally it wasn’t much of a problem because I got what I primarily wanted from the series - which were the team dynamics. Not unlike The Avengers: I don’t…
what, now all replies will have to be moderated??? you’re fucking kidding me
Trish: “What have you found out?”
Karen: “Nothing yet. I’m actually a terrible journalist. I just pinned these pictures to the wall because that’s what I’ve seen in movies.”
Trish: “How the hell did you win a Pulitzer?”
I liked the miniseries very much, and I’m hoping that Defenders also gets a season 2 order. The playground of street-level NYC is too ripe to be abandoned this early.
How come Movie reviews (like the Leap review) are listed as ‘Shared from Film’ but TV reviews are listed without any ‘Shared from’ source? While other things (like What’s On Tonight) are ‘Shared from TV Club’?
Super confusing...
No, really, it’s not the gate for kun lun, it’s just a sealed deposit of dead dragon.
