I danced a jig the day he died. That man created the country we live in now, and I hope he’s rotting in hell for it.

Head’s up that that’s a right wing talking point - that the mortgage crisis (and the following economic collapse of a few years ago) was the fault of the Democrats because they forced banks to lend to poor (meaning of color) people.
Serious question - do you really think that people who are Washington outsiders have the ability to get up to speed and learn the ropes fast enough to be able to be effective presidents in 4 years? Because this is always my dilemma - yes, you need someone not entrenched in the system, but on the other hand it’s a job…
I do. I think (other than their truly terribly politics) both Rubio and Cruz do not have anywhere near enough experience to be President.
I remember the same thing. I also don’t necessarily blame her (or any politician, Gillibrand moving to the Senate comes to mind) for modifying their votes to reflect their constituency. That is, after all, what they’re supposed to do.
Don’t forget that there are down-ballot races too! If you have some huge ish with Hillary (or whomever) there are still senators and congresspeople and judges and sheriffs and dogcatchers and all that too, and in those races one vote counts a lot more.
I’m uncomfortable with the idea that nudity in the absence of anything other escalating factors is related to sexual assault.
This is the biggest non-issue ever. Take all the pictures you like. If there are some that you think are aesthetically special or might have meaning to people who follow you, post them. Just save the rest for yourself, or for friends who want to see pics from your trip.
Sounds like she doesn’t want you to have to live with the same hangups that she herself has.
Savages.
But he’s kind of right - more than $15 is crazy for shampoo. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it - hey, if you have the money why not? but that is a lot for what is essentially the exact same product. (Full disclosure: I just recently stopped buying $40/bottle shampoo)
Eh, I don’t know the difference between a jock strap and an athletic supporter and a cup and all that. And to be fair, “shadow” does imply that it would be under the eye.
OUTLANDER
What a non-issue out of all of the horrible things happening. Play the damn games in an empty stadium. Most viewers are on TV anyway.
The police officers who killed Freddie Gray need to take accountability for their actions.
My rule of thumb is try to see/do/experience one tourist thing a day. Just one. If I’m going to Westminster Abbey in the morning (or, more likely, the afternoon...) that’s it. Rest of the day is hanging and wandering.
Right you are! That’ll learn me to read complete sentences! I still don’t think that it’s some kind of edict about what other people should do, just an expression of what she thinks looks better, which is totally legit in a piece about makeup.
You don’t need to tell me - I live in Manhattan! And I know that going to work in a regular old office every day, even as a non-client facing person, a little makeup is expected. If I went in totally bare-faced it would be considered slightly unprofessional. Would I be disciplined or fired? Of course not, but the…
The actual quote - “I feel that usually women should wear less,” implies that what looks like too much (not any at all) is the problem. My question is how did you turn that into “I feel that women look better without makeup”?
Nah, it really isn’t. She’s saying that she gets that if you have skin ish that you want to cover up the you’re all about makeup, and that some people like it as an artistic exercise, but that generally speaking she thinks that obvious makeup is obvious. Could that be slightly better worded? I don’t know, but people…
