If you’re dieting to lose weight then yes, not having that extra sugar intake is only going to assist you in your goals. You can easily get the fiber and vitamins from other sources.
A lot of people also report feeling sluggish on keto so it makes high output activities like running harder. Some dont, but many do.
If anyone thinks that eating chocolate chips until you’re not hungry is a good way to lose weight then advice in the comment section of lifehacker isn’t gonna turn their life around no matter what.
Eat until you’re not hungry anymore, not until you’re full
1) stop eating processed foods ( chips/snack foods/etc) dont buy them, out of sight out of mind
You’re not a failure. The system is designed to fail so people keep using it.
I laughed when I read you drifted away from Keto as you got active. The amount of people I have trained who have the exact same story as you is getting quite long. Awesome work, honestly you’re the perfect example of what to do. Find activity you love and do it, activity really helps regulate weight via satiety…
The thing about weight loss is its always harder to achieve then it is to sustain. Your body has a general set point where it likes to live, this can despite some claims to the contrary change with effort, and for many people who want to lose weight that set point is on the higher end. As your body has become…
I come from the opposite side of things. I am formerly obese and was able to escape that by learning about calories, macros, and I eventually found my way to a volumetrics style of dieting where protein content + caloric density are the two biggest factors. So I get where Noom is coming from. The issue is its not…
One thing I have learned from years now of commenting here is how strong people react to learning the truth that heart rate has almost no effect on calories burned. The ONLY reason smart watches uses heart rate to calculate calories burned is because it correlates to calories burned and you can actually measure it.…
Honestly, I don’t see why not. The real benefit of protein supplements is getting the protein without anything else but the effect of collagen itself is in the protein.
I have found since taking collagen supplements my nails grow faster, not sure if its a product of actually paying attention or not, but its something I am aware of. That being said collagen is clearly over priced and overhyped from its practical standpoint. If you’re spending a 2x multiple on collagen as opposed to…
Just saw this post, then comment, got curious and read the link, the paper doesn’t say what this article think it does. It looks at long term stress levels and found an inverse relationship with fruit intake. It has a) nothing to do with desert and b) nothing to do with acute short term decisions regarding the…
The issue is and I am speaking from experience it makes people who cant manage their relationship with alcohol properly believe for a time it is manageable. Many can manage, for a time, but these people will always fail and the failure is painful both mentally and physically. As managing a problem keeps the problem…
94 moderate-to-heavy drinkers who gave up alcohol for a month saw a number of improvements in certain health markers, including their blood pressure, insulin resistance, and liver functioning. Giving up alcohol for a month can also help you sleep better and prevent the over-eating that usually happens when you’ve had…
Ya, there are a lot of people out there with a very bad relationship with alcohol and even if they’re not a full blown alcoholic total abstinence would likely be a good idea. I quit drinking four years ago and had no real trouble quitting so I wasn’t an “alcoholic” but man it was a drain on my life and held me down.…
Half the posts today are bumps. I wish they’d just copy and paste to clear the comments. I’d start new threads lol. Also who doesn’t like a little head... I mean heat every now and then.
Fun fact “caffeine withdrawal” isnt actually a thing as caffeine isn’t addictive in the traditional sense like alcohol or other drugs in that its not physiologically habit forming. Caffeine’s negative feedback works by the caffeine building up in your system as your body cant process it fast enough. Some people can…
True. Though for a lot of people with an unhealthy relationship with food just saying you should lose weight, especially when so many have already failed, some for multiple times, isn’t the most productive way to go about it. Its been shown time and time again the single best predictor of sustained weight loss is when…
