Lazy people love to pay for a quick hack rather than accept the truth that hard work and time is what you need to do. Influencers come in because they are more than willing to sell the lie.

Most IG models use Booty Pads or injections to get that look. There is actually no way to have a big ass and a small stomach if your body doesn’t store fat that way. Some folks are lucky but most aren’t. Sure you can build bigger glutes but fundamentally that size in the trunk will come from fat above a certain point.…
I got to a sub-60 bpm resting heart rate last year (around 58 to be precise) just walking. Now I walked A LOT about 30,000 to 35,000 steps a day but it wasn’t running. Walking can really help your heart out but if you want to increase the other part of your cardiovascular system namely your lungs, you need to do more…
I see posting whatever on social media all the time the ends were just fitness or looks
Well its different training. Id say never judge until you’ve walked in their shoes. Powerlifting is a sport, as is strongman which is basically competing at “farmer” type strength the loaded carry is alternatively called a Farmers Walk for a reason.
This is a great list wouldn’t add anything. Especially the part about relative body mass to weight. Its much more impressive to Squat 400 lbs at 150 lbs than it is at 250 lbs. In fact one is pretty amazing the other is pretty much basic.
Ya, I stopped getting leg DOMs about a month into a upper-lower split. Doing some variation of squat/RDL 3 days a week gets your legs used to it quite quickly. Overtraining isn’t an accute “ouch I feel sore” its a general feeling of lethargy and less than optimal feeling. It takes a while to actually understand when…
DOMs means you’re not training enough lol. Train more, DOMs go away.
Ya, I would agree for all this it really depends. Back in the before times a 90 minute workout was my norm. With COVID restrictions (in the brief time gyms were open) I was forced to make due to one hour. At home... basically my entire day is a workout somewhat.
The site is dying and its only a matter of time by this point. Hell, the only reason I saw this was because when I was on Lifehacker I got comments on a six year old post back from when Kotaku was actually cool.

I wrote this in 2015. Kotaku bumped the article presumably because they’re being lazy and had nothing else to do. Please do not comment on this post. I know literally all of it.
Gyms have been closed for... checks Twitter... 355 days where I live and I have lost so many of my gainz. I cannot wait to get back to the gym. Still waiting for that announcement... I swear once they open though with all my muscle memory I’ll be able to make gainz like a noob again.
Honestly, the best advice I could give is learn about nutrition. Start with calories, learn to read nutrition labels to make sure you’re eating good foods, focus on eating unprocessed largely plant based and lean meats, and drink lots of water or calorie free drinks, diet soda is 100% okay.
THIS! 100% THIS!
Prepare for the best gainz of your life my friend if you hit the weights. You’ll be able to do the holy grail of fitness, build muscle and lose fat simultaniously. Noob gainz are amazing. Focus on nutrition - protein is key - and a consistent gym schedule, don’t sweat the small stuff, and just do your best, get some…
Ya I agree with all of this. I always say to my friends on days off “do something simple and fun that will help you move towards your goal” if your goal is weight loss go for a longer than usual walk, run, or bike just don’t push yourself too much. If your goal is to gain strength than do some light higher rep stuff…
I literally already posted one to the other idiot who asked the exact same thing.
I’ll add learn to pick up things with you feet. Its fun and it helps build the mind-muscle connection to those muscles. Plus if you get really good at it you get a new set of limbs that is surprisingly useful. That being said its likely dependant on the size of your feet and how big your toes are how good/useful the…
Shocked! Shifting goalposts.
