It’s more than that, though. Those of us who were “shocked” last night weren’t paying quite enough attention to the real America. No one should have been shocked, even a little bit.

I’m sure that, underneath, he, Michelle, Hillary and many others tied to the campaign and administration are utterly and completely crushed beyond comprehension. This isn’t just a normal loss to a normal opponent. To lose to Trump is not something you can ever really shrug off/get over. Something really fucked up…

Sadly, there is nothing for her to take to the Supreme Court. We don’t elect presidents by popular vote, and Trump had a decisive electoral college win, with no contested states regarding margin of victory.

Did you see Barron last night during Trump’s speech? I mean, he’s a little kid and I’m sure he was tired, etc., but I’ve never seen a more miserable looking child, or at least a more miserable looking child whose father just won the presidency of the United States.

She just gave her concession speech, I’m sure you’ll get something.

If they are legal immigrants, she has to tell them they are safe. We can’t let panic be stoked here, especially in our children. If they are undocumented, it’s a much more complicated and troubling conversation.

So, today we are proven very wrong indeed. I think a lot of us “sheltered” liberals living on the coasts have a lot of soul-searching to do regarding our actual awareness of the country we’re living in.

Plenty of women voted for Trump, too. Especially white women. It’s horrifying.
