So, while I would love to see the dethroning of Trump ... how is this different than what the governor of North Carolina is doing right now, that every liberal (including myself) is lambasting as an affront to democracy? Or the rhetoric we criticized Trump for throwing around before the election?

To me, it doesn’t speak of privilege but more of, “I didn’t get what I want. So, I am taking the ball and going home,” whining. It’s such a sore loser, immature thing to say.

Man, I know. I think it is the height of American arrogance to assume that if we decide to move to Canada then (of course) Canada will take us. I am pretty sure that I am 1) too old and 2) not well off enough. And no, as much as I love Canada, I have no intention of trying to move there.

Most of y’all have no idea how much of a bureaucratic nightmare it is to move to the United States legally, even when you have a great education, job skills and are fluent in the native language of the land.

I read that differently. I took it as he was saying that to leave fixes nothing and makes no difference and is a cowardly way out. Perhaps he left the remainder of it unsaid, which is its both more difficult and more courageous to stay and work to fix our own ills than it is to abandon ship.

I love these “I’m moving to another country” takes after every American election, because they’re such a wonderful reminder about how self-absorbed, arrogant and unfamiliar so many Americans are with the rest of the world around them, believing that the planet is just waiting with baited breath to clothe, house, feed

As a Canadian , I am sick of hearing Americans say this for whatever reason they give. we are not a consultation prize.

I read some article somewhere that also sought to explain the Christie thing with insider reports that on the Apprentice he would manipulate things to keep a fat buffoon in the running as long as possible because everyone loves a funny fat guy to keep them entertained, but he’d make sure they never won. So, you know,

Is she the only person that can trigger a recount? Because we’re in a hypothetical scenario where we MAY be able to recount votes and already on this site people are clamoring for her to do something as if she owes them.

Nope, I’m done. There’s no way this’ll happen so I’m not going to waste energy hoping for it. Forward, and into battle:

^ This. Yup. And talking about “my gays” like they’re accessories to make her cooler.

I remember when she was on the Tonight Show and Jay Leno mad a joke about her looks and she was very upset and hurt. But yet her jokes are fine? Talk about hypocritical.

I’d like to believe some are falling on their swords for the good of the country, but the way, for instance, Nikki Haley went into ecstasies after Trump was elected (after first hating him, then grudgingly agreeing to vote for him), led me to believe another element is taking over.

This is really petty of me, but that picture is hands-down the worst picture of Clinton I’ve seen throughout the election.

The hypocrisy is staggering post election. I have no rooting interest in either side. However, aren’t these the same people that mocked Trump when he said he might dispute the election results of he lost because “the system was rigged”(while himself being hypocritical in winning and stating the system worked)..

I’m forever gray, but I’d still like to comment:

So, basically all of the predictions BEFORE the election about what alt-right Trump supporters would do when he lost have now come full circle.

As much as it sucks I have accepted that Trump will be president for a period of time (most likely until the repubs have no use for him).

How about we finally let a woman that has spent her career being abused in nearly equal measures by the right and the left do what she fucking wants?

This whole piece just drives home for me that there’s a sizable chunk of the population (both conservatives and progressives) that believes as long as no one says “nigger” there’s no racism.
