I don’t know how games are made, but I work in startup tech and this reminds me of the executive who used to push me to “come up with something that will go viral.” Sure. I certainly am able to influence the internet and media establishment. I’ll get right on that.

National Museum of African American History and Culture is fantastic. I couldn’t see everything in one visit, and it was super crowded, but the content is incredible.

“internet hate tends to grow from jealously.”

Start small. Don’t try to pick up a ton of hobbies at once. What did you like when you were a kid? What do you hear someone say and think, “I want to try that”?

Same. Even at my fittest, I struggled with burpees.

The first thing I do before I get into a hotel bed is to pull all of the sheets out from under the mattress. Professionally-made beds feel so restrictive!

This is a good tip. Being in the kitchen after a long day at work (esp if you are in front of a computer) can be nice screen-free time. I can listen to a podcast, or music, or just focus on the task at hand and decompress.

This may or may not work for you, but one thing that motivates me is eating something I’ll really like vs eating to survive. Learning to cook kind of showed me that a lot of foods I thought I didn’t like, I actually didn’t like how someone had seasoned/prepared/etc. I look forward to some of my own recipes now!

This is what my mom bought growing up. When I got to college and me and my roommate went grocery shopping, I tried to buy it and she was so grossed out. She bought real butter and after that.. it’s all been real butter for me.

Seriously. Some of these celebrities just waste this opportunity to go all out, amazing glam fancy dress of your dreams. This is probably how I would dress if I became famous.

It’s unrealistic in a lot of the US, but I’m relying entirely on public transit, walking and Lyft right now and it’s crazy cheaper on average. I do consider whether I’d have to buy a car again when I think about moving, because it’s been so nice not having car payments, gas, maintenance, insurance, parking, etc. Also

It’s not really about streaming. It’s about people in positions of power taking advantage of children. It’s about the people we choose to highlight as “people worth knowing about.” This is just the latest industry/niche where it’s surfacing.

So, for example, if I were to say that anorexia and bulimia have historically been women’s issues or more of a problem for women.. you think that means I’m saying that all women are bad? I don’t understand that jump.

I really want to get a pull-up bar but I live in an apartment and have never figured out a solid place to put one. I’ll have to go exploring the local parks to see if I can find one.

Hero.

If your close, personal friend says the disgusting, racist, misogynist things that Mel Gibson has said - and we have heard on recordings - then your friend is an asshole. That’s why you wouldn’t help them achieve power and influence. Because they can be an asshole to even more people, put more bad into the world, and

Counterpoint: it’s infantilizing to compare your romantic partner to a child, who is literally learning about the world and how to relate to people.

Netflix has been advertising the T-swift tour doc recently and everytime I hear her sing-say “Are you ready for it?”, I roll my eyes. I imagine someone like P!nk saying that line and really owning it.

I definitely wish we had spent more time on development of stories like Jessi’s over more of Jay’s weird pillow cushion relationships. Those parts just don’t really land for me.
